  1. So many moms can relate to the experience of their child having eczema. What thoughts went into place when you were deciding on the best ingredients for Cristina’s Curls?

The two of the main thoughts that went into place when deciding on the best ingredients for our products were, what essential oils and ingredients are the safest for babies/children and which ingredients will be most effective at resolving issues, such as cradle cap and eczema.

  1. When you hear the success stories, how do you feel?

When I hear success stories, I feel fulfilled. To know products that were initially made to help my baby, are now helping other children all over the world, is an amazing feeling.

  1. What was the experience like having to hire staff to help out? Explain what it feels like to see people working hard to make your once dream a reality.

I’m blessed. I’ve had a pleasant experience hiring staff. All of my employees are women/and or mothers, so they see my vision and are dedicated to making Cristina’s Curls the number haircare and skincare brand for children. We are more than a team, we are family.

  1. As a business owner, how do you practice self-care to overcome the stressful days and challenges of running a successful business?

My number one rule for self-care is delegating. If it’s something someone else can do, I gladly hand it over. That clears my mind and schedule for the important task that only I can do.

  1. How has your spiritual faith played an important role in your life?

Also, I’ve gotten really good at sticking to a schedule. When I’m working, I’m focused and when it’s family time, I’m fully present. Lastly, I plan a lot of spa days. Being pampered is my favorite.

  1. What are some helpful tips for handling our hair and skin during the summer heat?

A few important tips for handling skin and hair during the summer is, staying hydrated. Water is your hair and skins best friend! I also highly suggest wearing sunscreen. So often people think African Americans do not need sunscreen. That is not true. It is just as important for melanated skin to be properly protected. For hair, I encourage protective styles and low manipulation, such as braids and twists. Summer is a great time to give the hair a break from daily styling.
