Let’s Talk Celebrity Hairstylist, Damienne Flagler Who Knows The Meaning of Giving Back!

The holidays are here, and one person who is always giving back is Celebrity Hairstylist, Damienne Flagler. She has produced this massive beauty giveback in Atlanta with no assistance every year. Her highly-anticipated annual “Lace Land Free Fest,” has lines of people awaiting thousands of giveaways in beauty supplies, beauty services and more! Now who do you know that’s giving away like that?! Probably no one you know unless you know Damienne!

Well, we had the pleasure to speak with her in a recent interview so let’s dive into the discussion about her event below.

What year did you begin your annual beauty give-back event and why did you feel the need to do so?

I began my annual Lace Land Free Fest year in 2020 after being released from the Covid shut down. People lost their jobs and the world was in shambles. I wanted to pour into the community and give them free services to introduce them to being back outside again. I felt like I needed to do a giveaway to bring life back into the people who had been locked down in their homes for months.

What is one of your favorite elements about the community gathering?

One of my favorite elements about the community gathering is our Lace Land concert. We allow upcoming and known artists to Grace the stage and give the community free entertainment.

What led you to start such a unique event for the community and why have you chosen to produce it without assistance each year?

What led me to starting such a unique event for the community was me wanting to serve God. I didn’t have a church home here in Atlanta so I used my event to tithe into the community for God’s people. Every year I’ve produced this event with my own resources but this year I’m seeking assistance from any sponsors wanting to help me do this for the community.

Why did you choose the name Free Lace Land for the event?

I chose the name Lace Land Free Fest because I loved the candyland theme with all the colors and I wanted to mesh the two together.

Do you challenge yourself to do the event on a larger scale each year?

Yes I challenge myself to do the event on a larger scale each year. I want to be able to service and give to thousands of people each year. I eventually want to take Lace Land on a tour.

Do you have plans for any more community outreaches or projects you’d like to share?

I always have a desire to continuously give to the community and I plan on bringing my back to school and toy drives back once the community picks back up.
