The debate on dating do’s and don’ts has been ongoing for years. From the moment you were old enough to date, you were likely bombarded with advice from your loved ones on what to do and what not to do to guarantee a successful first-date experience.
A list created by Facebook users is gaining popularity. It mentions places where women refuse to go on a first date. Some places listed include The Cheesecake Factory, Applebee’s, Olive Garden, coffee shops, bowling alleys, ice cream parlors, sports events, and even churches! The topic has garnered a lot of attention on social media.
A post on the Instagram page for “Spiritual Word” received over 50k reactions and over 24k comments currently on the Facebook user list.
When it comes to going on a first date, where do you draw the line on places to go?
You have to ensure that where you choose to go on a first date as a woman is comfortable for you and you alone. It doesn’t matter what the masses are saying at all. Don’t let a list speak for all women around the world or even for yourself. We know some women who love a good coffee shop date, and some women who would love to head to church and praise God with you. Don’t let someone else opinions ruin your dating life. You could very well meet your boo at Red Lobster! I think Beyonce even said she’ll take him to Red Lobster and I mean she is married to Jay-Z, a now billionaire, so in the words of Kountry Wayne, let that sizzle in your spirit.
The problem with our society is that we are looking to others for their thoughts on how we should love, date, sex, marry, dress, etc!
The experience of life is all about you and how you want to live it. You alone are the ones who get to dictate how you want to feel and experience the people around you. If you want to eat at Red Lobster, grab coffee at Starbucks, or go cheer for your favorite sports team on the first date then do that. You never know where you will find love, so to all my single ladies, stay open to finding love because it can happen anywhere.
Don’t reject a potentially good man because he chose to buy you a slice of cheesecake! I mean we still love a good slice of cheesecake and cups of coffee over here!
