While the historic original home to Mardi Gras has been known for the filming of many movies, the City of Mobile will now be getting a taste of Reality TV.
Mobile is set to be the home of a new reality television series called “The 251,” according to a Facebook post made by the Mobile Film Office.
Enhance Productions & Publishing will produce the new show and, according to their website, the show has been in development since 2021. After the show is aired, it will be available to watch on Prime Video and Tubi TV.
The creator is Demetrice “Meechi” Jones who is a registered nurse, podcaster, philanthropist, and aspiring producer.
“His aim is to tell this story through the lives of millennials who shape the culture of the city. As a Mobile native himself, Demetrice wants this to be a positive entity for people to get to know Mobile and the lifestyle of determined individuals.”
According to Enhance Productions website, the show will follow 7 Millennial socialites and entrepreneurs as they navigate the trials, passions, and drama of their lives. We’ll get a look into their romance, friendships, families, and even conflict that arises within the group. The 251 is bound to portray the black community in Mobile, Alabama in a brand new and truly authentic way.
The new series is scheduled to film from December through the Mardi Gras season and will premiere on Royal K TV.
