Meet Charm, CEO of Essence Artistry LLC!

Charm is both a licensed makeup artist and nail technician with three master makeup certifications! She works as a freelance makeup artist out of the historical and growing state of Atlanta, GA.

Charm had started her career and successful pathway five years ago by simply operating in department shops and stores before transitioning into freelance positions and opportunities. A part of Charm’s expedition allowed her to create a loyal clientele while perfecting her; strongly developed artistry talents. Charm has gracefully said she had realized her fondness for makeup while at Greenbriar Mall years back when she found herself inspiring many influential individuals, including models.

Charm has worked on various radio sequences, television settings, movie backgrounds, cosmetic brand photoshoots, and magazines. Operating in television and movies has continued and will always be her most meaningful accomplishment thus far since it’s helped her unite and assemble a network with other exceptional creatives. Besides expanding her brand, Charm has a goal of becoming a makeup instructor and introducing her cosmetics line! Women love to get “Charmed” because of the customized experience. She strives to provide each client with a personalized adventure while creating the opportunity to connect with others.

It’s a bonus considering Charm is a Black entrepreneur looking to unite other creatives, by leading them through her craft and persisting in making women feel beautiful!

When did your journey into the beauty industry begin?

I started doing makeup in 2016 after receiving my license in esthetics. I’ve always loved art and the creative nature behind makeup artistry.

How has the experience of stepping out on your dreams helped to have a positive reflection on you?

I definitely think that actually believing in myself and being able to see the goals I set for myself come to life makes me believe I can do anything.

Any advice for an aspiring freelance make-up artist that’s trying to toggle during this time of a pandemic?

My advice is always education, take classes, invest in her craft, and trust the process.

Has the pandemic changed or impacted your business or opportunities?

I didn’t really feel too much of the impact on the pandemic, I worked in film vs freelance the entire time, so I’m grateful for that.

What are some opportunities that you have taken part in, that were impactful and stayed with you?

Working in different Arenas has been most impactful to the direction I have chosen to go in. I feel like when you have a passion; it’s exciting, but you don’t know where you plan to go with it. I feel blessed I’ve been about to work in so many different settings and can say … I love doing this type of art vs this type of art.

Any upcoming projects or plans during this time?

I plan to move to Los Angeles in 2022 to expand in my field! I’m both excited and nervous, but I can’t wait.
