Actor, model, and television personality Imani Turner is stepping into the spotlight as the lead in Investigation Discovery’s upcoming true-crime documentary series Bodies in the Water, produced by Wheelhouse Entertainment.
The six-episode series premieres Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Investigation Discovery, with Turner’s featured lead episode scheduled to air June 9 at 10/9c. The weekly documentary series will continue through July 7, exploring real-life water-related tragedies and the investigations that followed.
Bodies in the Water combines emotional storytelling, forensic detail, and firsthand accounts to examine cases shaped by loss, mystery, and the search for answers. Turner’s role brings a steady and emotionally grounded presence to the series, drawing from her growing experience across television, film, and commercial work.
Her previous credits include Tubish, Dexter, and now Bodies in the Water. Turner has also trained with respected industry professionals including Shiek Muhammad, Maura Garnett, and Jane Jenkins.

Joining Turner in the production is her daughter, Ramiyah Brown, who appears as a supporting lead throughout the series. Brown contributes to several of the project’s emotional and narrative moments, adding another layer of authenticity to the storytelling.
Outside of acting, Turner continues to build momentum in the fashion and modeling industries. A nationally and internationally published model, she was recently featured in Malvie Magazine and has steadily expanded her visibility across entertainment and digital media.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of a project that highlights real stories and emotional truth,” Turner shared. “Sharing this experience in a meaningful way has been powerful.”
As her career continues to evolve across television, film, modeling, and brand storytelling, Turner is positioning herself as a rising talent with a growing presence in the entertainment industry.
