Healthy Skin Care Routines for Cold Weather

Cooler weather is here and our skin will need extra care. Colder temperatures take moisture away from the skin; this could result in dry, itchy, and irritated skin. Here are some great ways to keep our bodies soft and hydrated while the temperatures begin to drop.

Face

Rather you have oily, dry, or sensitize skin; your face should keep hydration especially during the winter weather. Daily, use a toner or mist to clean and hydrate your skin. Witch hazel is great for oily and acne prone skin, this will also help even out your skin tone. Calendula oil is great to use for hydration, wrinkles, and scares. If you prefer to use a facial wash I’d suggest using a wash with natural ingredients.

Lips

Chapped lips are a headache during the cold weather. They’ll burn, break, and sometimes bleed if they get too dry. Great ways to prevent this are moisture locking lip bums. Lips scrubs wash away dry skin while exfoliating our lips. Drinking water also helps with rehydrating.

Body

Raw Shea or Coconut butter is best for softening skin. This’ll also help with fading dark marks, eczema, and joint pains. Body scrubs help remove dead skin, softens, as well as smooth razor bumps. Bath’s with added natural body oils also help soften skin.

Feet

Moisturizing or rubbing your feet with natural oils is the best way to get soft soles. Scrubs made with sea salt and coconut oil will help smooth and moisturize. Wearing socks after you moisturize your feet will also help lock in moisture.

These are just a few ways to help keep our skin feeling healthy and soft. You could also create your own skin care routines with simple household products. If this post serves you well, leave us a comment or  picture below!
