Content Creator Phoenix Malone Keeps Humility at the Forefront Even While His Star is on the Rise

Phoenix Malone, an actor and content creator, has been tirelessly expanding his comedic brand since the Vine days. In just under seven years, he has gained an impressive following on social media, with 12,000 followers and counting on Instagram and 145.5 thousand on TikTok. His infectious smile and optimistic outlook on life have endeared him to fans, resulting in a constant growth of his fan base. This achievement is something to celebrate, and despite initial doubts, his career has taken off like a rocket and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

When did you decide to become a content creator?

I decided to become a content creator in 2016. It was around the time Vine was dying down and there was a period where content creation was kind of still a rare thing, so it was only the people from Vine that had branched out to other platforms that everyone was familiar with. I started because I needed a creative outlet and I had been wanting to do videos for a long time. I wanted to develop a skit group such as “Dormtainment” that I had looked up to but ended up doing it on my own because I found it difficult to assemble a group to work together with me.

What is your favorite platform to post & and interact on & and why?

Instagram is my favorite platform to post on because I feel it is the easiest to build a community there. I’m not acquainted with my TikTok Followers, but IG interactions feel much more personal.

What do you feel sets you apart from others in the crowded field of comedic content creators?

I feel like the thing that sets me apart and the only thing that sets anyone apart is the uniqueness of my authenticity. I think that everyone has a unique perspective on anything and that is where individualism comes from. I don’t think that anyone can do what I do exactly how I do it because I’m the only one with my vision.

Do you believe in vision boards or the principle of manifestation?

I do believe in manifestation, but I don’t believe it’s magic. I believe that if you change your thoughts to ones of gratitude and thoughts that are truly positive then you can change your habits to ones that lead you to things you desire or those things that are led to you. When you have negative thoughts, you behave accordingly and vice versa. No one has ever achieved their goals by thinking about what they could not do or how their circumstances won’t allow them to do something.

What can you tell us about your involvement in the short film Soul Mates?

Haha! “I love this question you guys really do your homework”. Soulmates was my acting debut. It was my first time ever having to learn lines and film scenes with other people. The cast was amazing and fun to work with. My friend Jamaal Williams wrote and directed the project and asked me to star in the film. He & and I went to college together and both pledged Alpha Phi Alpha, so we’ve always known each other’s talents. He was confident that I could bring the story what it needed to translate his feelings on film. I had a lot of fun doing just that & and we’ll be working on more projects in the future.

What are your most current goals & and what is your why or motivation for achieving them?

My most important goal is to replace my current career with my dream career of content creation solely. I know with certainty that it can be done because the opportunities that are presenting themselves to me now were not present when I first started. When I began, I only had 50 followers and a dream of making money from a video. Fast Forward to today I currently have an email inbox full of paid collaboration offers and I’m meeting with people who want to sign me to deals I previously didn’t even know existed. For instance, I made two thousand dollars from creating two 30-second videos last year, and that’s not the complete sum of what I made. Even this interview is something that I would have never guessed I would be a part of, so I know my goals are very attainable. My motivation is the simple fact that life is too short and unpredictable for me to do something conventional all my life when I could blaze a path and do something unorthodox and extraordinary instead. I don’t want to grow old and look back with regret thinking about how I could have done something but chose not to instead. I think this is how everyone should be as well.

What advice do you have for aspiring content creators & and influencers who may think it’s a completely glamorous and easy industry to work in?

My advice for anyone aspiring to be a content creator is just to be consistent. You can’t count the losses and you can’t even count the wins. You can’t get too hung up on videos that do not perform, and you also can’t get too obsessed with a video doing well you just have to go, and always challenge yourself to make your next piece of content your best piece.
