In a world where entrepreneurship is often associated with seasoned professionals, Icelande Robinson, the dynamic 23-year-old CEO of I’ceÈ Collection, breaks the mold and demonstrates that building a business can be both attainable and fashionable. Hailing from Franklin, Louisiana, Icelande’s journey has been shaped by her passion for fashion, her mother’s influence, and her unwavering determination. Today, she stands as an inspiration to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially young college graduates, proving that age is no obstacle when it comes to chasing your dreams.
From Observing to Creating:
A Fashion Entrepreneur in the Making Icelande Robinson’s love affair with fashion began at a young age when she moved to Houston, Texas, with her mother, Martha E. Berry, the visionary behind I’MarE Boutique. Observing her mother’s style and selling clothing to discerning clients, Icelande’s creative eye was ignited, and her fascination with the fashion industry bloomed. Unbeknownst to her, these experiences became the foundation for her own future as an entrepreneur. Inspired by her mother’s successes and lessons learned, Icelande started building a mental inventory of the dos and don’ts of the fashion industry, planting the seeds of her future enterprise.
What does entrepreneurship feel like for you at such a young age?
Entrepreneurship at a young age, feels like I’m on top of the world. I’ve been an entrepreneur since I was 15 years old, when my mom first started her boutique, I’MarEBoutique. I have been able to learn important skills such as teamwork, networking, work ethics, discipline, and so much more. I matured quickly and realized and understood what I wanted in life at a young age. Now that I am a full-time entrepreneur at 23, it feels amazing to see my dream and hard work pay off, knowing I still have bigger plans ahead of me.
What led to the launch of your eBook and what do you hope those who read it can achieve?
I launched my eBook because I wanted to try my hand at something new after I graduated. My loyal customers and followers always ask what I have up next college, so I figured let’s try it. Most recently, eBooks have become popular amongst young adults. Due to the way I’m usually perceived as a young CEO, attending college while in the process of so many other things going on, I decided to create an eBook on how I juggle everything and make a guide to achieving success in your 20s. I hope those who read the eBook feel empowered to navigate the complexities of young adulthood and unlock their true potential. Also, I want them to achieve how to discover the keys to success in your 20s.
What made you say now is the time to take my career goals seriously when so many in their 20s are just focusing on having fun?
Once my mom gifted me my boutique at the age of 19 and I started to feel like my own boss, make my own money, and hand pick my own inventory, I fell in love with that feeling and knew I was built for this. I was no longer interested in having fun, because I knew that my business was going to continue to flourish, and I wanted to take full advantage of that.
What has this journey taught you the most about yourself?
This journey has taught me to be comfortable in my success. To be proud of my achievements at such a young age and not to dim my light for anyone.
How do your friends and family play a part in your motivation?
My mom and grandmother are my biggest fans! They are at every interview, event, you name it! My friends and family also make sure to share important events or campaigns I have coming up and always shower me with love.
What upcoming events do you have planned?
I am currently working on a launch event for my new eBook! I’m excited to meet and greet my loyal customers and followers to encourage them in their career journeys.
