LIFE, I SWEAR by Chloe Louvouezo on sale November 2021. It is a gorgeous coffee table book that harmonizes photography and inspired design elements and blends profound narratives of Black women. The book is based on her podcast of the same name.  This book focuses on the diverse journeys of 26 phenomenal Black Women, highlighting their stories in a way that offers solace to other women navigating their own paths. Contributors include Elaine Welteroth, Julee Wilson, global beauty director of Cosmo, and Deun Ivory, a creative director who has photographed notables such as Beyonce and Issa Rae.

Hell of a Book,' by Jason Mott book review - The Washington Post

The other book to check out is, HELL OF A BOOK by New York Times best-selling author Jason Mott. The book is fiction, but it has non-fiction themes that can be explored. The book was the July book club pick for the Today Show and it will be the inaugural pick for the Ebony Magazine publishing book club. Jason was inspired to write this book while he was on his first whirlwind tour for his NY Times best-selling debut novel, The Returned. He was on a 6-week book tour (which rarely happens these days) and he started thinking of writing a comedic book about an author on tour. As he wrote the book, the headlines were filled with stories of assaults on black bodies, at times by the police who were sworn to protect and serve. He knew he could not write this book without including his views on growing up as a young, black man in America, and HELL OF A BOOK was born.
Mott combines multiple viewpoints through three separate characters. All three are distinct individuals, representing distinct moments and perspectives, all trying to understand the value of their own lives in America. And regardless of the storyline, a reader is following, there is news of a Black boy being killed. It’s always happening in this novel, as it is in real life here in America.
