Ashley Rae Harper, a multi-talented individual – an actress, media personality, and young entrepreneur, has released her first film as a producer and director, titled “Red”. It is released under her own production company, Ashley Rae Productions, LLC. This short film addresses the sensitive topics of teenage depression and suicide, shedding light on the painful struggles that young people face in today’s society. “Red” is an inspiring film that is effective in promoting teenage mental health awareness, and it is scheduled to be screened on June 24th in Charlotte, NC.

What is it like running your own production company at such a young age?
It is so much fun running a production company at 20 Years old. I have so many goals that I want for this company & I will achieve them.
Did you take any drama or acting classes while in High School?
Yes, I took acting classes at Acting Out Studio while I was a high school student.
Who are your acting influences?
Amongst my main acting influences are Marsai Martin, Storm Reid, & Jenna Ortega.
How did you feel when you were cast in your first major acting role?
It felt amazing and powerful. I can’t wait to act on more projects.
What can you tell us about your short film Red?
“RED” is about a young girl who is going through some trials of understanding as she examines whether life is worth it. The film goes through the process of how one incident can affect your whole life & family if not properly addressed.
How does your family help support your drive and ambition?
My parents support me by helping to get me to New York or Los Angeles for a project or film festival. They also help by making contributions financially to my personal film productions or acting expenses as needed.
You have accomplished so much already, what’s next on the horizon with a birthday coming up next month I believe?
I turn 21 on July 3rd. so I’m going to be with my dad and family to celebrate my birthday. It’s exciting.
If you were not familiar with the name Ashley Rae Harper before this article. I can assure you with confidence that it will not be your last time. I will not say that she is the next Storm Reid as she listed her among her influences because she is one of a kind and deserves to radiate in her own space through the light of her own originality & artistry. What I will say, however, is much like another one of her influences, Marsai Martin, who became a mogul at a very young age she is well on her way to similar success by creating stories with her own company Ashley Rae Productions, LLC.
She is already building an impressive resume & telling important stories dealing with heavy subject matters such as suicide in the film Red, and how to deal with family dysfunction and brokenness after the loss of a beloved relative in “All We Got” which is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
I got to check it out for myself in preparation for this interview and I must say she did an incredible job! She gives a lot of credit to her parents for helping her to remain so level headed & professional saying they help her to “Keep her cool when projects and circumstances do not go quite as she expected them to” and just as any other well-adjusted young adult she enjoys watching movies and catching up on sleep in her downtime. I would like to wish this ambitious woman a happy early birthday, I know she is just getting started. With a loving family by her side and a winning & motivated mindset, she cannot help but win.
