Meet Founder of The Simple Vue Academy and Spelman graduate Nandi Edouard

Nandi Edouard, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Simple Vue Academy, and her team plan to bring a new kind of charter school to Cobb County by 2025. The Cobb County native and Spelman College (HBCU) graduate has received $20K in grants to open the first STREAM school in Cobb County.

“As a former Cobb County student, I never felt seen or acknowledged while going through school. Vue in French means ‘to be seen’ and so that’s one reason why The Simple Vue Academy is named The Simple Vue Academy, along with the fact that entrepreneurship is one of the keys to economic mobility. The 74.8% of students of color in Cobb County are not afforded this type of education in traditional public schools to reach prosperity for themselves or their families,” said Edouard.

She recently hosted, A Night in Atlanta Gala Fundraiser on Saturday, March 11th, at the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE) in downtown Atlanta. Her goal is to get closer to her $300,000 in funds.

‘A Night in Atlanta ’ will raise funds for a 2-week day camp designed to teach Metro Atlanta students STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and math) approaches, while giving them the opportunity to explore different concepts outside the traditional classroom like entrepreneurial mindset development. The silent auction offered hors d’oeuvres, live performances by viral singer JaaLa, and live art painting by Tre Wilkins.
