Shauna Lamore and her fiancé Anthony met back in 2004 in school but life took them in different directions. They reconnected later and it was like they never lost touch.
She owns a public relations firm with offices in both Maryland and Houston. He owns a vending business servicing both Maryland and Houston and they’ve launched a lifestyle brand called Lights, Camera, Houston that documents their life and travels and what it’s like running businesses in 2 states. This beautiful duo will be saying I Do on 10/21/2023 in Maryland. We caught up with the couple and got some inside information on how they define love, and more!
How do you define Love?
We feel that love is an action word. Also, that love is more than a feeling it’s a commitment and a choice. You have to choose each other every day even on the bad days. Love doesn’t come with conditions but relationships do and you must love your partner in a way that feeds their soul.
You recently got engaged. Tell us what has helped to make your relationship successful.
Communication, compromise, and compassion are the main ingredients of this relationship. Communication is number one and not just listening to respond to your partner but actually listening to understand their thoughts and feelings. Compromise is second and it’s so necessary to make sure both partners are being fulfilled. Compassion is so necessary because often people can function only from how they are feeling. If you can’t feel compassion for your partner and their feelings even if those aren’t your feelings you end up being a selfish partner. That leads to a disconnect. In addition to those things, it is necessary for us to separate business time and family time. With both of us running businesses we can easily work 12-16 hour days but we make sure we find time to unplug.
