Meet Delphine Foster, CEO of Six Figure Trucking Academy!

Coach Delphine Foster is into big things. Big ambitions, big business, big trucks, and the big bucks. She wants to spread the wealth, and educate women on how to get their trucking business started. She wants to get rid of the misconceptions about starting a trucking business, and she is doing so with her Six Figure Trucking Academy. It’s in her blood, and her family has done well-building wealth in the trucking transportation industry for many years. Delphine has the experience, the knowledge, and all the resources needed to get women on the road, and earn passive income. All you have to do is want to start, and she’ll show you the rest. She gave FEMI the rundown on how it’s done:

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

“I am a very kind and compassionate, incredibly hard-working person, who loves helping other women that are ambitious and willing to be led by me to having a six-figure business.”

You grew up watching your father run his trucking business. Do you remember the exact moment that you realized you wanted to follow in his footsteps?

“I had gone to visit my sister who lives in the Pacific Northwest and she actually bought her first truck, and started her business, and she wanted to show me. And when I arrived she took me immediately to her business, and it was dark (I’ll never forget it). We pull up to the place, we get out, and she starts that truck up. When she started that truck up, I cried like a baby. The flood of emotion of all the years of thinking about our dad’s trucks, him leaving and coming in supporting us financially- that was the moment that I knew I was going to do it.”

You have a website dedicated to your six-figure trucking academy business. Can you share some details on the courses that you have available?

“I teach two things at my academy. The first thing is how to start a six-figure trucking business, and the second one is how to start a freight dispatch business. For starting the trucking business, I have two ways that I can support someone. The first would be my 3-day Trucking intensive. This is a live, in-person, 3-day training that I conduct in cities across the United States- where I show women how to start their own trucking business in their city, by showing them how to use the resources and tools in their area to help them become successful.

The second way that I can help someone is through my mentorship. Which is 90 days, where I hold someone’s hand and help them start their trucking business for the 90 days. That includes 12 modules of learning, 12 personal coaching calls, unlimited access to me, and everything that we learned that week in the module. That is what we implement into the business that week, and that’s how we’re able to get the businesses up and running so quickly.

The last way that I can help someone start their trucking business is called the business and the box, where it is a done-for-you program. I do everything. I set your business up for you. The only thing you have to do is select the truck that you want, and I can get this done in 90 days or less.

The final class that I teach is my free dispatch class. This is where I introduce women to the world of freight dispatching. This class is taught virtual via zoom, and I host these classes every month and they are held on a Saturday.”

You have a question posted on your Instagram that reads: “What does freedom look and feel like to you?” What comes to mind when you envision freedom?

“What comes to my mind when I envision freedom is me being able to do what I want when I want, and create as much revenue as I choose. For me, freedom has been just jumping online, booking a flight, going to a sunny climate because I need new energy, and staying as long as I want-and never compromising my revenue-generating capabilities.”

What would you say to a woman who wants to start a trucking company, but she isn’t sure it’s the best business decision for a woman to make?

“My question to the woman would be, “What is your hesitancy to start a trucking business?” I would let her know that starting a trucking business is like starting any type of business. It requires the same components, that is personnel, that is equipment, that is systems, that is investment costs, there is absolutely no difference, and I will be happy to show her how. There’s a huge misconception about starting a trucking business, that the woman may think she has to become a truck driver, and that is not true. There are so many components to having a trucking business. I really show women how not to focus on just the truck driving portion of it, or the truck portion of it. There’s a lot more that goes into it than that, an education is the key.”

You purchased your first truck in 1997. Almost 25 years later, you are sure to have some great memories/experiences. What’s one of your favorite experiences with your company?

“I went to purchase a truck. I was dressed in professional clothing, a dress, and heels. I go to ask about a truck, and they’re brushing me off. So I said, “Can I get the keys to it? I want to take a look at it.”… and they’re like, “Do you have a CDL?” I’m like, “Absolutely.” I said, “I’ll be right back.” I go to my car, put on coveralls, tie my hair up, and put on my work boots. I come back with my tools, and tell them to open the hood, I need to check her out. They were so floored with the thorough inspection that I did.  I climbed on the top of the truck, and checked the engine under the hood, and checked underneath the truck- Then they put some respect on my name!”

What are some things that you have planned for your company in 2022?

“My foundation is going to start its first annual trucking business giveaway to a deserving, amazing, single mother. Which we are so thrilled and excited to do. This is something that I have personally been wanting to do for a few years. I know how much having a trucking business has changed my life as a single mom, and I know it will bless another woman.”
