Rashida Brown has always had a love and passion for shoes, especially sneakers. She was inspired to launch her brand because everyone wasn’t doing shoe lines, and clothing brands were popping up everywhere. Rashida wanted to step out of the box and do something different, which motivated her to design the Japera Brown Collection exactly to her specific liking. Although the journey to launch has been met with challenges, Rashida explained, “Starting a footwear brand is not for everyone and takes a lot of work.” Rashida was committed and determined to give us an impressive shoe line despite difficulties finding the proper shoe manufacturer, especially when it came to adult sizing and affordability because we all know that a good shoe is not cheap.
