Maya Angelou: First Woman of Color to be on the Quarter

The US Mint had briefly announced that Maya Angelou was to be the first honoree in past April stating the coin’s head will continue to strongly feature a likeness of George Washington which is designed in a manner to distinguish it from the current image. It’s being encouraged for the women who have and will continue to be featured by the National Women’s History Museum.

Maya Angelou, who transitioned at the age of 86 in the year of 2014 had gained acclaim for her very first book , a 1970 autobiography entitled “ I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.” 

As a Gracefully Esteemed writer and poet Maya Angelou is inserted to place her model featured on a set of quarters that the United States Mint will scatter around starting  January 2022.
