The Boston Globe reported that LeBron James and his friend, Maverick Carter joined Fenway Sports Group as partners to become part owners of the Boston Red Sox. They are also making history as becoming the first and only Black partners of the group.
Before this decision, James also has ownership in an English soccer team Liverpool Football Club, also owned by Fenway Sports Group. NBC Boston believes that Fenway Sports Group is trying to expand beyond its current state which includes buying new teams.
Although the NBA has been thinking of expanding the league, LeBron has made it aware that he looks forward to owning a basketball franchise. So far, LeBron’s post-basketball life seems to be going in a positive direction!
