Meet Creative Arts Director and Choreographer: Jai’koa

Jai’koa is a Creative Arts Director and Choreographer for Holloway’s Gift of Life Foundation in Atlanta, GA. He is passionate about inspiring and empowering others that come across his path.

We had the opportunity to speak with Jai’koa and dig deeper into his projects and aspirations.

What new projects are you currently working on?

Currently I am working on multiple projects! One of which is with a well- known watch company called MVMT this week.  I am also working with other brands this month such as The 49th Supply Co., Reebok and Bombas. It’s a blessing to work with multiple brands all at once and give back to the community while doing so.

What are your thoughts on storytelling?

I think storytelling is important. It’s a great way for an influencer or anyone with a platform to allow their audience to get to know them better! It gives a more personal connection! Therefore, creating a stronger and longer lasting bond!

How has volunteering at Holloway’s Gift of Life Foundation had an impact on your life?

Volunteering has made a major impact on myself in multiple ways! It brings a smile to my face see that I’ve made a positive influence on the next generation to come. It also allows me to go back in time and remember the beginning steps of my career. Watching the next generation grow and learn each day, just being a part of their process has truly been an honor! I understand the importance of having a mentor who can provide life advice or even just a simple positive interaction. This can change anyone’s perspective on life in a major way, so I don’t take it for granted at all.

What have you learned as a Creative Director?

As a Creative Director I’ve learned that it’s okay to take risks and go think outside the box! It’s fine to push boundaries to create something new and exciting! By doing this you end up with a masterpiece that can potentially inspire someone else to step outside the box as well!

What are the most important things about self-branding that you have learned?

When it comes to self-branding it’s important to understand your worth! Constantly creating new things and building an extensive resume can create value for you as an individual.  Also having a solid track record of providing quality work helps as well! You must pay attention to both the little things just as much as you do the big ones in order to be successful.
