Those are just a few of his hip hop influences, some of his R&B influences include Chris Brown, Usher, Trey Songz, Bryson Tiller, Boys II Men, Dru Hill, HER, Summer Walker, SZA, Beyoncé, Brandy, Michael Jackson, Al Green, Sam Cooke, David Ruffin, Enchantment, Marvin Gaye, and many more. Kendrick added, “All of these people I’ve studied in some way and they have helped me develop my authentic sound. I gain so much understanding and inspiration from these artists and what they’ve created”.

Being a part of the music industry has its ups and downs. When asked about some of the challenges he’s faced, Kendrick replied, “My biggest challenge has been to understand the politics of the music industry. I’ve had to learn the importance of networking, and having the right people on my team while staying consistent and focused”. He added, “Everyone who says they support you doesn’t have your best interest at heart. I also have to continue to earn a living while pursuing my passion until I reach the point where my passion can fully support me. I’m still learning to balance it all but grateful for the opportunity to share my talent with the world”.

Mental Health is becoming more important in the black community; Kendrick shared his thoughts on this issue as well as police brutality in within our race. “Many of the mental health issues we currently deal with date back to over a century ago during slavery and other times in history when we were oppressed. People fail to see that. It’s important to seek help to conquer these issues that have been passed down from generation to generation. Psychological warfare is real and we have to find ways to deal with it and better ourselves through it”. Kendrick added, “Police brutality is nothing but history repeating itself and bad officers showing their true colors and feelings towards our people. Luckily, we now have technology that allows us to film the acts that are being committed, expose the guilty and some are being brought to justice. I do not respect any officers who feel they can operate outside of the law and do as they please. It’s a disgrace to what they say this county is supposed to stand for. My heart goes out to the victims and their families”.

For those looking to collaborate or support Kendrick, the best ways to get in touch are through his social media platforms by sharing his music and videos. “My current single, “Blessings on Blessings is streaming on all major platforms. Tell your friends, family, just everybody about me. I’m always looking to collaborate with people and businesses that align with what I’m doing” Be sure to keep a lookout for more music from Kendrick P this year. “I’m still releasing music from my current project W.Y.A.F. (What You Asked For). It’s received a lot of love and it’s doing really well online. I’ve had over 2 million streams and several stations have placed my songs in rotation as well. The video for Blessings on Blessings is now on BET Jams and my next single, “Where the Love At,” is impacting soon. I’m sure people are going to love that one as well.”
