As a growing artist, he uses his collective power and passion for the music lovers and supporters who love real R&B!
We had the opportunity to interview and ask the soulful star some questions about his journey and other exciting facts thus far.
As we know, your musical influence started and developed in the church; what was the motivation to make this a career?
People’s real-life situations inspire me to write and sing what real-life people can relate to. Love also inspired me to move forward and make it a career, singing about real love, passion, having fun, sex, and heartbreaks.
Who has influenced your sound and range?
As far as sound, it definitely would be Musiq Soulchild, Joe, and Avant, when it comes to range, Tyrese and Tank. You have to love how a person is singing; it comes with so much passion from their soul.
When writing your song, what topics do you cover other than the classic “love, sex, and relationships)?
I love singing about peace and justification. There’s no way I can’t have this voice in today’s concerned times and not speak on what we are facing in reality. I like throwing different topics relevant in the world, i.e., a famous social media challenge, maybe a hot female model/couple, or meme to have fun and people can relate.
Take us through the elements of your writing and recording journey.
I remember when I first started writing, I would always call my friends and ask them what’s going on in their relationships, and I would write to it. I would come up with a melody with no beat, so I’ll be stuck hoping a producer could come up with a fire track. Now it’s the reverse, and it’s way better. I check out the vibe the producer has and start grabbing the hook with melody, and after we get that first line of the verse, it’s on and popping.
If there’s one artist in this industry you’ve dreamed of working with, who would it be?
Man, this question is so broad for me cause it’s several, but if it’s one, I will go with Usher.
What can we expect to see from you as you continue to grow in this industry?
Albums, singles, new videos, and film. I’m getting into acting. I love acting comical at times but still a gentleman overall.
Tell us about your latest single inspiration, and was this a personal experience for you?
Women control the dance floor; this record was inspired for women to let go of themselves, don’t be so tight when you’re partying. have fun out there and wild out, and know when you out there feel and know there’s nobody better than you.
