Sean Jones has a way of making a room feel like home. When the global award-winning entertainer recently brought old-school R&B to Toronto’s Casa Loma, the audience responded with the kind of energy that reminds us why live music still matters. From the opening notes to the final performance, the crowd remained on its feet, proving once again that Jones knows how to connect with an audience.
That connection will continue September 2, 2026, when the Juno Award-winning artist returns to Casa Loma for “Soul In The City” with his nine-piece band and special guests.
Jones will then take audiences on another musical journey September 25 at The Westdale Theatre in Hamilton with “The Marvin Experience,” a live celebration of the timeless music of Marvin Gaye.
Produced by Jones, the immersive concert will feature an eight-piece band, projected visuals, and fresh arrangements of some of Gaye’s most beloved recordings. From “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Let’s Get It On” to “Sexual Healing,” “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You,” and “Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing,” the performance promises to revisit the romantic ballads, socially conscious anthems, and unmistakable Motown groove that made Gaye a musical icon.
For Jones, the tribute is about more than recreating classic songs. It is about honoring the emotion and spirit behind them while introducing the music to a new generation. His ability to move between powerful vocals, soulful storytelling, and commanding stage presence makes him a natural fit for a tribute to one of the most influential voices in R&B and soul.
Jones has spent years establishing himself as a powerhouse performer whose reach extends well beyond Canada. His career includes popular residencies and sold-out performances across Canada, the United States, and internationally. He has opened for Ellen DeGeneres’ arena tour and shared stages with some of music’s biggest names, including Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, David Foster, Usher, Beyoncé, Macy Gray, Eric Benét, Alan Frew, Divine Brown, and Jully Black.
His accomplishments also include becoming the first-ever musical ambassador for WestJet, where he created the popular WestJet Boarding Sessions. Jones has continued to expand his creative footprint as a performer, producer, and recording artist.
His single “Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone,” featured in the U.S. film Sons 2 The Grave, earned a Hollywood Music Award nomination, further demonstrating the breadth of his artistry.
In recent years, Jones has continued building memorable live music experiences through Soul series performances at Harbourfront Concert Stage, a summer residency at the historic Palais Royale, and performances at the legendary El Mocambo. His recent sold-out ’80s concert at the El Mocambo will return in October 2026, giving fans another opportunity to experience his take on the decade’s biggest sounds.
His work as a producer has also extended into community initiatives. Jones brought Holiday Soul to Hamilton in support of local food banks and later performed and co-hosted the 2025 Christmas with the Clemons event at Toronto’s TELUS Centre.
