Some personalities simply entertain. Others leave an imprint that extends far beyond the screen. Anisha “Beedy” Johnson has managed to do both.
For more than a decade, the New Orleans native has become a familiar face to audiences through reality television while quietly building an entrepreneurial empire rooted in authenticity, creativity, and purpose. Whether she’s appearing on television, designing fashion, hosting heartfelt conversations on her podcast, or commanding the room behind the DJ booth, Beedy has created a career that refuses to be confined to a single lane.

Raised in one of America’s most culturally rich cities, Beedy embodies the unmistakable spirit of New Orleans. Her warmth, resilience, humor, and larger-than-life personality have made her someone audiences don’t simply watch. They genuinely connect with her.
Many first came to know Beedy through her recurring appearances on Tiny & Toya, Toya: A Family Affair, T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, and Toya & Reginae. While reality television introduced her to millions, it also challenged her to navigate public perception while remaining true to herself.
Instead of allowing television to define her, she used it as a launching pad.
Today, Beedy is proving that reinvention isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about giving yourself permission to grow.
That philosophy is woven throughout every venture she touches.
Her fashion label, Vintage Comma Collection, is more than a clothing brand. It represents perseverance. Inspired by the punctuation mark that signifies a story isn’t over, the brand reminds people that setbacks are simply pauses, not endings. Every collection reflects Beedy’s love for timeless style while encouraging others to embrace every chapter of their journey.
She has carried that same transparency into Not A Perfect Podcast, where listeners are welcomed into honest conversations about relationships, healing, family, personal growth, and life’s imperfections. Rather than presenting an image of perfection, Beedy creates space for vulnerability, reminding her audience that authenticity is often the greatest form of strength.
Her latest evolution has taken her into live entertainment through Grown & Vibin, a DJ tour designed to bring people together through music, joy, and community. It’s another example of her ability to connect with audiences, not just through a screen or microphone, but through shared experiences that create lasting memories.
What makes Beedy’s journey so compelling isn’t simply the variety of careers she’s pursued. It’s the consistency of her message.
Whether she’s speaking on a podcast, selecting music for a crowd, or designing apparel, she continues to encourage women to embrace growth without abandoning who they are.
Her story serves as a reminder that reinvention doesn’t require leaving your roots behind. Instead, those roots often become the foundation for everything that follows.
As Beedy continues expanding her influence across entertainment, fashion, media, and live events, one thing remains certain.
Her story is still being written.
And if there’s one symbol that defines her journey, it’s the comma.
Because the best chapters are still ahead.

FEMI Magazine: You’ve built a career across reality television, fashion, podcasting, and live entertainment while staying authentically yourself. How have your New Orleans roots shaped the woman and creative entrepreneur you’ve become?
Anisha “Beedy” Johnson: My New Orleans roots are everything. Growing up there taught me the importance of family, resilience, culture, and knowing how to make something out of nothing. New Orleans has a way of giving people personality, strength, and creativity. I’ve carried those qualities into every business I’ve built. Whether I’m creating content, designing clothes, hosting a podcast, or DJing, I want people to feel the real me. My city taught me to never forget where I came from, and that’s something I represent everywhere I go.
FEMI Magazine: Many people first met you through Tiny & Toya, Toya: A Family Affair, T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle, and Toya & Reginae. Looking back, what lessons did reality television teach you about visibility, vulnerability, and protecting your peace?
Beedy: Reality TV taught me that people will always have opinions about your life, whether they know the full story or not. At first, I wanted everyone to understand me, but I’ve learned that protecting my peace is more important than explaining myself. It also showed me the power of vulnerability. When you’re honest about your struggles, healing, and growth, you give other people permission to be honest about theirs. I’ve learned to share my story without sacrificing my peace.
FEMI Magazine: Your fashion brand, Vintage Comma Collection, celebrates individuality and timeless style. What inspired you to create the brand, and how does fashion allow you to tell your story in ways words sometimes can’t?
Beedy: I’ve always loved fashion because it’s one of the first ways people express themselves before saying a word. Vintage Comma Collection represents growth. To me, a comma means your story isn’t over. We all go through setbacks, heartbreak, and challenges, but the comma reminds us there’s still another chapter. I wanted my brand to inspire confidence and remind people that no matter what they’ve been through, they can keep going.
FEMI Magazine: Not A Perfect Podcast has resonated with listeners because of its honesty and authenticity. What conversations do you hope your audience walks away from feeling seen, heard, or empowered by?
Beedy: My biggest goal is for people to know they’re not alone. None of us are perfect. We all have family issues, relationship struggles, trauma, insecurities, and moments where we’re trying to figure life out. I want every episode to feel like you’re sitting in the living room having a real conversation. If someone leaves feeling encouraged to heal, forgive, grow, or simply keep going, then I’ve done what I set out to do.
FEMI Magazine: Your Grown & Vibin DJ tour has introduced fans to another side of your creativity. What inspired you to step into live entertainment, and how does connecting with audiences in person compare to television and podcasting?
Beedy: Music has always brought people together, and I wanted to create an experience where people could forget their stress for a few hours, dance, and have a good time. DJing lets me connect with people differently because I get to see the joy on their faces in real time. Television lets people watch you, podcasts let people hear you, but live events allow you to actually feel the energy in the room. That’s something special.
FEMI Magazine: Reinvention has become a defining part of your journey. How have you navigated evolving your career while remaining true to the personality and values that people first fell in love with?
Beedy: I’ve learned not to stay in one box. Every season of my life has required a different version of me, and I’ve embraced that. Whether people know me from reality TV, YouTube, podcasting, fashion, or DJing, I never want to become someone I’m not just to fit in. I think people connect with authenticity more than perfection, so I try to stay grounded in who I am while allowing myself to grow.
FEMI Magazine: As someone who has successfully expanded your brand across multiple industries, what advice would you give women who want to diversify their careers without losing their authentic voice?
Beedy: Don’t wait until everything is perfect. Start where you are and trust yourself enough to learn along the way. Don’t let people convince you that you have to stay in one lane. If God gives you multiple gifts, use them. Also, remember that your reputation matters. Stay consistent, stay humble, keep learning, and don’t compare your timeline to anyone else’s. Authenticity will always outlast trends.
FEMI Magazine: Looking ahead, what is the next chapter for Anisha “Beedy” Johnson, and what legacy do you hope to leave as you continue building your influence across entertainment, fashion, and media?
Beedy: The next chapter is continuing to grow everything I’m building while creating opportunities that have purpose. I want Not A Perfect Podcast to become a platform where real conversations help people heal and grow. I want Vintage Comma Collection to keep inspiring confidence, and I want Grown & Vibin to become an experience people look forward to in cities across the country. More than anything, I want my legacy to be that I was authentic. I hope people remember me as someone who wasn’t afraid to evolve, who stayed true to herself, and who inspired others to believe that their story doesn’t end with their struggles. It keeps going. That’s what the comma represents to me.

As Anisha “Beedy” Johnson continues to evolve, one thing remains constant: her commitment to showing up as her authentic self. From reality television and fashion to podcasting and live entertainment, she has transformed every chapter of her journey into an opportunity to inspire others to embrace growth without fear. Her story is a testament to resilience, reinvention, and purpose, proving that success isn’t about fitting into one lane but having the courage to create your own. And if Beedy’s journey has taught us anything, it’s that the most meaningful stories are never defined by where they begin, but by the courage to keep writing what comes next.
