In a culture that often celebrates success while quietly ignoring the emotional battles that come before it, Archie Clay III is challenging the narrative. More than a fashion brand, it is a movement rooted in healing, self-discovery, faith, and personal growth. Founded from a place of pain, reflection, and resilience, Brain Love is redefining what it means to wear confidence by placing mental wellness at the center of the conversation. As the brand continues to expand from retail partnerships to a growing global audience, its mission remains clear: remind people that true transformation begins within. Through every design, message, and community connection, Brain Love is proving that healing isn’t a weakness—it’s a strength worth showcasing.

FEMI: Brain Love sits at the intersection of fashion and mental wellness—two spaces that don’t always collide. What inspired you to turn healing into something people can literally wear, and how do you ensure that message stays authentic as the brand grows?
Archie Clay III: The journey really started with me. I had to face my own pain—hurt, confusion, depression—from my previous business. I was in a place a lot of people find themselves in but don’t always talk about. I didn’t have allthe answers, and I didn’t know what was next, but I knew I had to heal. That meant doing the internal work, getting closer to God, being honest with myself, and choosing growth even when it was uncomfortable. What that taught me is that at some point in life, we all have to make a decision—to face ourselves or run from it—and that decision is directly tied to our mental health and overall well-being. The world talks a lot about success and money, but not enough about the journey to get there. The failures, the mistakes, the moments where nothing works. That’s real life. And if we don’t learn how to grow through those moments, we never truly evolve. Fashion became our language tocommunicate that. It’s more than clothing, it’s a vehicle for change. It’s how we build community, how we tell stories, and how we give people something to believe in. And the way we stay authentic is by never forgetting why we started. We hold ourselves accountable every day. We didn’t build Brain Love just to make money, we built it to remind people that mental wellness matters and that it plays a role in everything we want out of life.
FEMI: From Bloomingdale’s Lenox Square to Bloomingdale’s TysonsCorner Center and now a global presence online, Brain Love isexpanding fast. What has this journey taught you about scaling apurpose-driven brand without losing its soul?
Archie Clay III: As we’ve grown—from Bloomingdale’s Lenox Square to Tysons Corner and now online—one of the biggest lessons has been patience and staying true to who we are. It’s easy to get caught up in growth, numbers, and outside expectations, but we’ve learned that our mission has to be bigger than the moment and bigger than the clothes. This brand is about changing how people view mental health and wellness, not as something negative, but as a tool that helps you live a fulfilled lifefor yourself and your family. When you stay grounded in that, the growth becomes meaningful. We’re not just building a brand, we’re building leaders. People who think differently, ask questions, and want to evolve. That’s the real scale.
FEMI: When Tabitha Brown organically discovered and championed BrainLove, it created a powerful moment for the brand. What did that validation mean to you personally, and how did it shift your vision moving forward?
Archie Clay III: When Tabitha Brown organically discovered and championed Brain Love, that moment meant everything. And honestly, we’re just grateful. She’s loved for a reason, her spirit and authenticity are real, and to be seen by someone like that is powerful. But more than anything, it reinforced that every single person matters. Whether it’s someonebuying their first piece, sharing us online, or leaving a review, every interaction is part of the journey. It reminded us that we’re building something real, and it pushed us to double down on excellence. Not just in product, but in how we show up, how we respond, and how we take care of our community. We want to get better every single time, no shortcuts.

FEMI: You’ve described Brain Love as “confidence you can wear and healing you can feel.” In a world where luxury is often tied to status, how are you redefining luxury through emotional and mental alignment?
Archie Clay III: When I think about luxury, I think it’s deeper than what we’ve been taught. I love high-end fashion, the craftsmanship, the attention to detail, the intention behind it, that matters. But true luxury is how you live. How you treat yourself, your family, and your community. That’s the luxury we’re building. Yes, we focus on quality and details, but we also careabout how people feel when they wear our pieces and even more importantly how they feel without them. Because your happiness and success aren’t defined by what you wear. That’s where the shift is. The world has conditioned people to connect luxury with status, money, and power, but real luxury is internal. It’s peace of mind, self-love, andalignment. We’re just adding to what’s already inside of you. You don’t need us, you need yourself. And if we can remind you of that, then we’ve done our job..
FEMI: Your journey from co-founding a nationally recognized luxury brand to rebuilding from a place of reflection is powerful. Looking back, what was the defining moment that made you realize Brain Love wasn’t just a brand—but your purpose?
Archie Clay III: And honestly, there wasn’t one defining moment that made me realize this was my purpose. It’s every moment. Every day I wake up and do this work, I’m reminded that I’m walking in it. My path was already laid out, I just had to align with it. As my faith has grown, everything has become clearer, and the impact I’m supposed to make is right here. There’s still so much more work to do, so I stay committed to growing, learning, and becoming better every day. That’s what this is.

What makes Brain Love stand apart isn’t simply its apparel—it’s the purpose woven into every thread. While many brands focus on appearance, Brain Love encourages people to prioritize alignment, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. Its message is a powerful reminder that luxury is not defined by labels, status, or material possessions, but by peace of mind, self-love, and the courage to grow through life’s challenges. As the brand continues its journey, its impact reaches far beyond fashion, inspiring individuals to embrace healing, trust the process, and recognize that the most important relationship they’ll ever build is the one they have with themselves. In a world searching for authenticity, Brain Love is proving that purpose never goes out of style.
