40 Is The New 20! Tania Richardson Gives Us the Inside Scoop into her brand: Hey Lady

Think about the last commercial you saw on TV. If you can’t think of one, let me go ahead and help you out. If it was a sportswear commercial, it probably featured a super in shape athlete or model, probably in their early 20’s. If it was a hair commercial, it most likely featured a 19-20-year-old model with “curly” 2a hair. So what’s missing? According to Tania Richardson, women in their 40s and 50s are a huge market, and they are missing from many major lifestyle and beauty brands. In today’s “anti-aging” society, we are obsessed with looking and dressing younger than we actually are. Tania looks to break the typical “soccer mom” stereotype that you tend to see with ads that do feature middle aged women.

Advertisers are missing out on a huge market with these women! These are the women that are living their best lives! “We buy 65 percent of new cars, and 91 percent of new homes” Tania says. With her motivation and love of fashion, travel, and uplifting people, “Hey Lady” was born. “Hey Lady” is a phrase that she uses to greet her friends, and it invokes class, style, and sophistication, so naturally, it was perfect fit for her lifestyle brand.

Hey Lady is more than just a brand, it’s a movement. Her website has you covered, from fashion to travel and everything in between, there is something for everyone. According to Tania “life begins at 40.” She hopes to use her brand as a way to branch out into mentorship for younger women. It hasn’t been easy however; getting the word out initially was a challenge, and creating effective social media campaigns.

It’s easy to see why Hey Lady is such a success. As an everyday working women with responsibilities, she seeks to highlight other women with the same drive and ambition. Her Lady of the Week seeks to recognize women that are a boss in their own right; whether that be at home, or in business. She aims to grow her YouTube following to 1 million subscribers, and show advertisers that they should in fact be checking for women in their 40s and 50s. 40 is the new 20? Tania Richardson sure thinks so! (And I agree.)
