Crafting Community and Purpose: Inside L&L Crafty Finds in Decatur

As the New Year inspires many to slow down, reconnect, and invest in themselves, Linda and LaToya Lott are creating space for exactly that through L&L Crafty Finds, a creative hub located in Decatur, Georgia. This mother and daughter duo has built more than a craft studio. They have cultivated a welcoming environment where adults can unwind, learn new skills, and form meaningful connections through hands-on experiences.

L&L Crafty Finds offers ongoing small group experiences designed for adults seeking a creative outlet or a new hobby. Each experience blends creativity with community, encouraging participants to relax, socialize, and leave with both a finished project and a sense of accomplishment. Current offerings include a wood burning charcuterie board making experience, a New Year vision board exercise, and an introductory mixology class. Each session is intentionally designed to support mental wellness, promote social connectivity, and reignite the joy that comes from learning something new.

The vision behind the business is deeply rooted in resilience and reinvention. LaToya Lott, a Clark University graduate, made the bold decision to pivot careers after her longstanding government position was eliminated. Rather than viewing the setback as an ending, she saw it as an opportunity to take a chance on herself. Her mother, Linda Lott, a former Obamacare certified application counselor, soon found herself at a similar crossroads when her role was also cut. Together, they decided to turn uncertainty into purpose by launching L&L Crafty Finds, combining creativity, entrepreneurship, and service.

Their impact extends far beyond crafting. Profits from L&L Crafty Finds help fund their nonprofit organization, Lott Legacy. The nonprofit was founded to support youth transitioning out of the foster care system, a cause that is especially personal to Linda. She and her siblings spent their childhood moving from one home to another within the Miami foster care system, an experience that shaped her commitment to ensuring other young people have the tools and support needed to thrive. Lott Legacy focuses on providing life skills training, housing assistance, financial literacy coaching, and additional resources to help foster youth successfully transition into adulthood.

Looking ahead, Linda and LaToya are excited to expand their reach by offering online craft experiences for adults who want to explore new hobbies but do not live in the Decatur area. This next phase of the business reflects their ongoing commitment to accessibility, community, and personal growth.

L&L Crafty Finds is located at 4421 Glenwood Rd, Ste 600, Decatur, GA 30032. To learn more about upcoming experiences, visit www.landlcraftyfinds.com and follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for updates and behind the scenes content.
