During this solemn event, I think of all the women who came before us, from revolutionaries like Daisy Bates, Harriet Tubman, and the Coretta Scott King Shirley Chisolm of the world. Harris’s success is proof of Black balloter’s power and the robust support of racial justice that has succeeded.

Black women’s leadership pushed America ahead, defending our independence and rights. This past election, we have confirmed once again that we are essential to the party’s victory.
