Rising artist Boy Pretty, the son of international music icon Akon, has officially released his highly anticipated single Addiction through Konvict Kulture. Blending elements of Dance, Alternative Pop, and R&B, Boy Pretty is carving out his own path as one of music’s boldest and most authentic new voices.

Born into music, Boy Pretty grew up surrounded by the soulful sounds of Brandy, Sade, and Toni Braxton, artists introduced to him by his South Carolina–born mother, alongside the creative energy of his father, Akon, and his siblings. Although he initially aspired to become a fashion designer, his older brother and producer Alioune Thiam (Ali Osborne) encouraged him to explore music. Once he stepped into the studio, his artistic vision flourished.
Beyond music, Boy Pretty expresses his creativity through painting, drawing, and fashion design. These disciplines feed into his ability to bend genres and expectations, resulting in music that feels fresh, multidimensional, and boundary-breaking.
