In a breathtaking fusion of fashion and fortitude, “Thrivers Rippin’ the Runway” made its unforgettable debut on October 17, 2025, at Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship in Savannah, Georgia. This inaugural event was not just a showcase it was a movement.

Survivors of domestic violence and breast cancer stepped into the spotlight, transforming the runway into a stage of triumph, healing, and generational breakthrough. Hosted by Sharon Simpson, the evening honored the courage of those who have endured, overcome, and now thrive with unapologetic grace. From bold colors and fierce styles to soul-stirring testimonies and a powerful three-generation presentation, the event delivered a message that echoed far beyond the walls of the sanctuary: survival is just the beginning thriving is the legacy.

The Kingdom Life Christian Fellowship in Savannah, Georgia, became the epicenter of a powerful celebration of resilience, healing, and hope. The sanctuary was transformed into a vibrant runway for the inaugural “Thrivers Rippin’ the Runway” event, hosted by Sharon Simpson. Survivors of domestic violence and breast cancer took to the stage in a stunning display of courage and confidence, turning fashion into a vehicle for storytelling and transformation. From children to teens to adults, each participant modeled not just garments, but the strength and dignity of those who have faced adversity and emerged radiant.

The show was a visual spectacle, featuring bold fashion choices, slayed hairstyles, and avant-garde makeup artistry that added drama and flair to every scene. Purple and pink dominated the runway, symbolizing the causes being honored domestic violence and breast cancer awareness. Women and men from all walks of life brought their unique energy to the stage, with the men commanding attention through their style and presence, igniting the room with charisma and fire.
Every scene was thoughtfully curated to reflect the emotional journey of healing, making the runway a space of both beauty and meaning.
Yet, it was the stories behind fashion that truly defined the evening. Survivors shared raw, heartfelt testimonies that moved the audience to tears and applause. These narratives, woven throughout the event, reminded everyone that healing is not only possible—it is powerful. A special segment featuring children emphasized that awareness and empowerment must begin early, planting seeds of strength and self-worth in the next generation.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night came during the finale: a three-generation presentation that embodied the heart of the event’s mission. A grandmother, mother, and daughter walked the runway together, representing 63 years of collective survivorship. Their presence told a profound story of breaking generational cycles of trauma and reclaiming legacy through healing. As they moved heart to heart, the room was filled with reverence, witnessing the embodiment of resilience passed down through love and determination. It was a moment that underscored the strength required to confront the past and rewrite the future.

The event raised $7,643 in ticket sales and donations, all of which will benefit two impactful nonprofit organizations: Confidently Learn to Live, which supports survivors of domestic violence, and Go Pink 365, a breast cancer initiative led by Ladder Strategies and Solutions. These funds will help provide critical resources, education, and support to individuals navigating life after trauma and illness.
“Thrivers Rippin’ the Runway” was more than a fashion show it was a transformative experience that educated, entertained, and empowered everyone in attendance. It marked the beginning of a new tradition, one that honors the voices of survivors and amplifies their stories through art, beauty, and community. As the final model exited the stage and the lights dimmed, the message was clear: these thrivers are not just surviving, they are thriving, and they are doing so with grace, strength, and undeniable purpose.
