Disney & Waffles: Kelli Ferrell Hosts Private “Freakier Friday” Bash at Nana’s

This past Friday night, August 1, Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kelli Ferrell turned her Sandy Springs restaurant, Nana’s Chicken & Waffles, into the ultimate Y2K-inspired playground for a private celebration of Disney’s upcoming film Freakier Friday, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2003 classic.

With the new movie—starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis—set to premiere August 8, Disney pulled out all the stops for an evening that brought out familiar faces and good vibes.

From 7 to 10 PM, the restaurant at 5600 Roswell Road NE was buzzing with laughter, family fun, and mouthwatering plates. Guests dived fork-first into a waffle wonderland—red velvet, lemon, cinnamon roll, strawberry shortcake, peach cobbler, banana pudding, and more—all paired with Southern favorites like shrimp & grits, fried grit cakes, crawfish bites, catfish, fried green tomatoes, and fresh banana bread.

Kids lit up at the custom Y2K bracelet-making station, while the grownups sipped on signature cocktails from Belaire and Bumbu, tested their memory with Freaky Friday trivia, and soaked in the nostalgic energy of a film franchise that’s been flipping stories—and roles—for decades.

The night was warm, whimsical, and perfectly timed—a sweet farewell to summer before the kids head back to school in Atlanta. Leave it to Disney (and Kelli Ferrell) to serve up the kind of Friday you wish you could relive all over again.
