Renowned actor and recording artist Keith D. Robinson is stepping into a brand-new role on daytime television, joining the cast of the #1 rated CBS soap opera, Beyond The Gates. Making his official debut today, May 15th, Robinson will portray the recast role of Dr. Ted Richardson, a brilliant and charismatic plastic surgeon who is sure to stir the pot in this drama-filled world.

Beyond The Gates, a CBS Studios hit, is quickly becoming a cultural phenomenon. Set in a luxurious gated community nestled in one of the most affluent African American counties just outside Washington, D.C., the show explores the intricate lives of the Dupree family—symbols of Black excellence and power—and the many characters navigating the high-stakes social ecosystem that surrounds them. With secrets, scandals, and social ambition simmering just beneath the surface, Beyond The Gates has captured the hearts of viewers across the country.
Keith D. Robinson’s addition to the cast only elevates the show’s momentum.

With over 70 acting credits to his name, including standout roles in Dreamgirls, This Christmas, Fat Albert, CRU, and The Life Story of Mahalia Jackson, Robinson continues to impress with every project. His portrayal of “C.C. White” in Dreamgirls remains a career-defining performance, with his solo “Patience” earning him an Academy Award nomination and a live performance at the Oscars.

Robinson’s TV resume includes a six-season run on Saints and Sinners, now available on Hulu, and appearances in acclaimed films such as Dear John, Get On Up, All Eyez on Me, and many more. His creative ventures also include his recent directorial debut, The Greener Grass Experiment, which won at the Essence Film Festival. He was also nominated for a NAACP Image Award for his work on the scripted podcast Crimson Hearts via Hallmark and recently wrapped filming a new TV series, Conspirators, in Washington, D.C.
Beyond acting, Keith D. Robinson continues to make waves in the music industry. This June, he will release the first single from his upcoming album Love Episodic 2, followed by a promotional tour with stops in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., Charlotte, and Baltimore, among other cities. The full album is set to drop later this summer, with both U.S. and U.K. editions under his production company, Scenes and Songs.
