Hyacinth Henderson is more than a financial expert—she’s a force for empowerment, clarity, and joy. Describing herself as trustworthy, open-minded, and joyful, Hyacinth shows up in every role with unwavering integrity and intention. With over two decades in the personal financial services industry, she’s on a mission to help people move from financial confusion to confidence. In this candid conversation, she shares her bold goals for 2025, the importance of preparing for economic shifts, and the one account every woman should fund to protect her peace, power, and freedom.
How would you describe yourself in three words and why?
Trustworthy, open-minded, and joyful—these three words describe the essence of who I am, regardless of the present role or position I’m playing. Sometimes, I’m in full-blown mom mode; other times, I’m a business owner, financial planner, leader, friend, and confidant—but at all times, in all roles, I am trustworthy, open-minded, and joyful.
I hold a high standard of integrity, a natural curiosity, and a zest for life. I believe in living well, helping others, and having the time of my life while I’m here.
Tell us about your 2025 efforts and the impact you desire to have.
My #1 goal for 2025 is to empower and educate more people about their money! We’re in a period of economic change, and many people aren’t prepared to navigate the shifts taking place.
When people aren’t prepared, they do one of two things: pause (do nothing) or panic (do things irrationally). I’ve been in the personal financial services industry for 23 years, and I’ve learned that most of the time, people fail because they don’t understand how their present decisions impact their future livelihood and lifestyle.
With all the changes and uncertainty taking place, we can no longer wish and hope for better. Now is the time for us to do better, and I’m committed to teaching and sharing what I know with the world.
What one power tip would you share with other women to help them win in this season?
Always, always… ALWAYS(!) fund your Save My Life Account!
Your SML account isn’t for when your AC goes out or when you need new tires or want to take a girls’ trip. The Save My Life Account is for true emergencies—when you need to leave without permission or a favor.
Consider it an account for you to buy your freedom. Far too many times, I’ve worked with women who couldn’t leave their jobs, their marriages, their partnerships, etc., because they couldn’t afford to financially.
In case you need a reminder: stress is a silent killer.
Prioritize consistently funding your Save My Life Account. You can start with as little as $25 per week, and if you can do more, then do so. The goal is to be consistent.
The second part of this tip is that you must put yourself first! Trust me, everything and everyone else will adjust.
