“Opus,” the latest horror-thriller from A24, is set to hit theaters on March 14, 2025. Directed by Mark Anthony Green in his feature debut, the film stars Ayo Edebiri as Ariel Ecton, a young culture journalist, and John Malkovich as Alfred Moretti, a reclusive pop star making a comeback after a 30-year absence.

The narrative follows Ariel as she secures an exclusive invitation to Moretti’s secluded desert compound for a listening party of his new album. Upon arrival, she encounters a cult-like entourage of sycophants and fellow journalists, leading to a series of unsettling and mysterious events.

Critics have lauded Malkovich’s portrayal of Moretti, highlighting his theatrical and eccentric performance. However, some reviews suggest that while his character is compelling, the film’s overall suspense and character development may not fully satisfy horror enthusiasts.

For those eager to experience “Opus,” tickets are available for purchase through various platforms, including Fandango
