R&B legend Gavyn Rhones Speaks on Babyface’s Grammy Red Carpet Snub & R&B’s Disrespect

R&B legend Gavyn Rhones shared his thoughts on Babyface’s treatment at the Grammys, expressing his disappointment in the ongoing sidelining of R&B music.

“It saddens me to see R&B continuously pushed further into the background. The genre still has a powerful voice, and whether you’re a newcomer or a legend, you deserve to be heard. Babyface was the one who opened doors for me when I first started, and seeing an R&B icon set aside in favor of a new Pop artist only reinforces the ongoing disregard for R&B—as if it has no place in today’s culture dominated by Pop.

Babyface, we salute you and all that you’ve accomplished. As for that insincere apology on the red carpet by the AP—it wasn’t genuine, just an attempt to save face in my eyes.”

Google Me, I stand with R&B.
