Ajax, ON – YAAD FEST Debuts on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 57 Notion Road, Ajax, Ontario
This family-friendly music and dance festival runs from 2 PM to 10 PM, offering a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and entertainment. Hosted by multi-award-winning DJ Suppa Natty and Janet Mann, host of the Jamaica Day Music Festival, YAAD FEST (meaning “home”) invites everyone to come together and celebrate what “home” means to them.
The festival will feature performances from the best musical and dance talents from Jamaica and abroad. Local acts include Legato, Bugatti Bonsu, and Jelly Too Fly, followed by an international lineup headlined by award-winning dancehall artists Tanto Metro & Devonte, whose hit “Everyone Falls In Love” topped charts worldwide. Reggae icon Nadine Sutherland, who was mentored by Bob Marley, will also perform, bringing her legendary sound to the stage.
Joining the lineup are Jamaican dance sensations TandA Twins, who have performed for stars like Chris Brown, and dancehall artists Courtney Melody, Jigsy King, and Grammy Award-winning Patexx.
YAAD FEST also offers activities for the whole family, including a children’s play area with a bouncy castle and games. Attendees can explore a wide range of vendors selling food, clothing, jewelry, and more. A fashion show will spotlight designers, with a dedicated tent for Carnival costume previews for 2025.
The event will feature live music throughout the day from local bands and a stellar DJ lineup including Black Reaction Sound, King Aggression Sound, Ice Burg Sound, Fire Squad, Mawga K, DJ Dimes, DJ Bigga Boss, DJ Marcus, and DJ Blackout Boss.
As part of giving back to the community, YAAD FEST will host its first-ever 50-50 Draw, with proceeds benefiting the local food bank.
