Ai’sha Takes the Shot- Getting Close with Celebrity Photogapher Ai’sha Miah-Gordon

Males have dominated the industry for as long as we can think of. Now the ladies have stepped from in front of the camera to behind the camera and they are elevating the game. Recently FEMI was able to sit down and chat with celebrity photographer and content creator, Ai’sha Miah- Gordon. She gave us all the tea on just what it takes to be a beast in the content creation game.

FEMI Magazine (Mo Clark): Where are you originally from and what brought you to Atlanta?

Ai’sha Miah -Gordon: I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio.

FEMI: What was your dream job growing up?

Ai’sha: My dream job growing up was to be a Hair Stylist like my parents.

FEMI: When you first came up with the concept for House of Content, what were you thinking?

Ai’sha: I wanted to create a space not only for my marketing clients but also for other entrepreneurs and creatives that need a place to create content.

FEMI: How long have you been doing photography?

Ai’sha: I have been doing photography for a little under 4 years.

FEMI: Being an entrepreneur comes with challenges. What challenges have you had to face and how did you overcome?

Ai’sha: One of the hardest things that I believe all entrepreneurs face in the beginning is building up your clientele/customers and getting the word out. I personally tried to think outside of the box, study my competition and do things that they were not doing.

FEMI: What would you say is the most exhilarating thing about what you do?

Ai’sha: Seeing the smile on my clients’ faces when I show them their pictures after each set. I love being not only their photographer but also their personal hype person to help build up their confidence. Once I see that smile it makes me feel good and lets me know that I am doing what God wants me to do.

FEMI: What’s most important to you when it comes to branding and networking?

Ai’sha: When my clients enter the studio I make sure to greet them with a smile and tell them “Welcome, make yourself at home”. I like to create an inviting and enjoyable memory with each of them. It’s all about the experience that leaves a lasting impression. I feel like word-of-mouth has been my best marketing strategy. I also like to attend networking events at least twice a month. All it takes is the right connection and person that can take your business to the next level.

FEMI: There are so many things to learn when it comes to photography and delivering great content. You have to learn lighting and editing and so many other factors. How do you continuously stay current in an ever changing field?

Ai’sha: I have a mentor that helps me. I also attend in-person classes whenever I can and of course Youtube University.

FEMI: What’s the greatest lesson you’ve had to learn thus far and would you change anything about your journey?

Ai’sha: One of the biggest lessons that I’ve learned so far is to make sure that you have absolutely everything in writing. Everyone’s word is not their bond! By doing this it will put an end to a lot of possible future issues.

FEMI: We’re all about manifesting in 2024. What are your goals and visions for House of Content for 2024?

Ai’sha: One of my biggest goals for 2024 is to shoot a celebrity and have my studio featured on a television show. I feel like once I do that, it will definitely put my studio on the map in these BIG Atlanta streets lol.

FEMI loves a good boss babe story. Elevation is key. 2024 is all about multiple streams of income. Ai’sha is helping brands create content in more ways than one and we love to see it. We look forward to her opening more locations and bringing even more awareness to her brand and brand expansions. Ladies take notes.
