‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman dies at 43

Actor Chadwick Boseman, who has brought us so many memorable films has died.

Boseman had been battling colon cancer since 2016 and died at home with his family and wife by his side, according to a statement released via his Twitter account. He was only 43.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you so many of the films you have come to love so much,” the statement said.

His boundary-breaking role as King T’Challa in the film Black Panther was said to be the honor of his career according to the statement.

Chadwick Boseman was a native of South Carolina and a graduate of Howard University. His break out performance was in 2013 when he played Jackie Robinson in the film “42”. His passing was announced the day Major League Baseball honored Jackie Robinson Day.

Chadwick Boseman brought us so many roles in historical films, and we have those to love and cherish him with forever. Our deepest prayers and condolences go out to the Boseman family and his wife during this loss.

Today we are all in complete shock behind this loss and we mourn with the Boseman family. We are truly grateful that we were able to experience all the greatness that he delivered us in every film during his battle. The statement released mentioned that Chadwick “filmed during countless surgeries and chemotherapy”.

There was suppose to be a second part to the movie Black Panther set to release in May 2022.
