T-Pain performed a free concert on Friday, October 20 in Downtown Mobile, Alabama at Mardi Gras Park. The event was courtesy of a high-profile law firm, Andy Citrin Injury Attorneys.
T-Pain (39) is a native of Tallahassee, FL, and popularized the creative use of the Auto-Tune pitch correction effect and is known for hits like, “I’m Sprung”, “Buy U a Drank”, “Bartender”, and more to name a few.
The gates opened at 5 p.m., DJ Dalton opened the show at 6:30 p.m. and T-Pain hit the stage at 8 p.m. Although T-Pain was not set to perform until 8 p.m., the crowds were building up at 4:00 p.m. with some saying they had been there earlier than that to ensure they were near the front of the stage. One of the attendees informed me that he was really excited about the event, was the biggest fan of T-Pain, and knew every song the Rapper had ever put out.
T-Pain put on an amazing performance.
During the show, he paused to mention that MPD (Mobile Police Department) had informed him that this was the largest crowd ever in Mardi Gras Park!
The City of Mobile really showed up in large numbers to see the Rapper perform!
This was truly an awesome experience for the citizens of Mobile, Alabama, so special thanks to Andy Citrin and we hope to see more events like this in the city. The experience definitely made me miss BayFest, which was once an annual three-day music festival held in the heart of downtown Mobile, Alabama. If you missed the concert, you missed out!
