Zen City is the hot new up & coming R&B Duo comprised of 24-year-old Devontae from Lancaster, Pennsylvania & 21-year-old TikTok Star Tyreece Greene of Sumpter, South Carolina. Although the group was formulated by their manager NeJcion Davis and positioned to fill the void left by past popular boy bands such as the NSYNC’s & B2K’s of old they quickly discovered that while they may have come from separate backgrounds they were born to meet & become instantly connected. They have discovered in little time that their vocal blend & styling is a match made in heaven along with their blooming brotherhood. Get ready to learn more about the boys of ZenCity as I’m sure you will be soon singing along to every sultry word & note of their hit tunes.
What is the meaning behind the name Zen City & was it given to you or chosen?
When people meet us, they realize we are chill & laid back. In our Zen literally and we are city boys so when our former group member Dashean Porter told us the name idea it hit, & we have been connected ever since.
What is the most important lesson you have learned in the music industry so far?
Having a solid team, being loyal, and knowing the music business is so important. We’ve learned early on these are essential to us being successful.

Did you help in writing your recent singles “Can We Talk & “Waiting”? What can we expect from your full-length debut?
Our camp presented those records to us, and we loved them and thought they’d be good records to introduce us to the game! Our debut EP is going to have some amazing records. We will just say that! Stay tuned because it’s only the beginning.
In your bio, it says a couple of times that you infuse gospel R&B what does that mean from your standpoint?
We are both rooted in gospel music, so we implement that in our vocal styles, not only do we love God He is the reason we have our gift to sing. R&B is a feeling and love is a thing, so we infuse it all together & you got ZC!
Many define success as accolades and record sales. What does success in the industry look like from your perspective?
Success to us is financial freedom while impacting the world with our music, being able to take care of our families, & do what we love every day.
How did your separate backgrounds help formulate your current relationship & chemistry?
Being from separate backgrounds is what helped to create our vibe. We both bring different styles, which created a unique sound together. Although we are different it is amazing how much we have in common!
Some say R&B is dead or at the very least dying. In your own words describe why it is still alive and well.
It’s alive & well because we’re here lol, and if it is dead so to speak, we are here to change that narrative ZC will be the answer.
Many groups do solo projects eventually and come back together. Is that something you aspire to do?
That’s a good question! Our manager NeJcion structured us as solo artists who came together to fill the void. The industry is missing a strong boy band, but we are going to drop solo projects in the future, however, ZC is our main focus right now.

If you are anything like myself you will be transported back to a nostalgic and simpler time upon listening to their first two singles as they are reminiscent of the movement that is currently going on with artist infusing mid 90s to early 2000s groove’s into their new works.
