Janice Scott is originally from a small rural town in Arkansas where farming is the backbone of the State. Janice saw chopping cotton in a positive light because it allowed her the opportunity to learn the value of a dollar, as well as make her own money at an early age to ensure her that she could buy whatever she wanted and needed. She used it to her advantage. Janice chopped cotton in her earlier years to make clothing for herself in high school and in the later years it paid off and now she is a certified grader of cotton awarded by U.S.D.A.
Can you tell us about some of the roles that you’ve played as an actress, as well as some of the people that you’ve worked with?
Actress ALL 5 seasons I have sung in the choir on Oprah’s T.V. Show Greenleaf it was amazing. I’ve had featured roles in Coming 2 America, with Eddie, Arsenic, Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, I’m featured in an upcoming Christmas movie with Ne-Yo, etc. I’ve worked with so many Actors such as Regina King, Brian White, Courtney B.Vance, etc. The list goes on and on.
You have a book titled “3 Steps in Overcoming Trials and Tribulations”, can you tell us a little about that?
The book 3 Steps in Overcoming Trials and Tribulations can be found on Walmart.com, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Books A Million, Download Kindle, E-book, etc.
I’m a Christian Author, My book starts off with my upbringing coming from a small rural town in Arkansas to moving to the big city of Atlanta, where I encountered racism. I needed to know God for myself and not what others said about him. So, I sought God out, and I found him. NOW I KNOW HIM FOR MYSELF. It’s an excellent book for encouragement especially if you are going through it.
You are also known as an Inventor. We would love to hear more about your work as an Inventor.
I invented a feminine hygiene product. God gave me the idea in a dream over 20 years ago, it’s now finally coming into fruition. All in God’s timing.
You’re a Public Figure and you travel the world speaking. What are some of the topics of your discussions with the people?
Encouragement. That’s the biggest thing right now. SOOO many people are going through challenging times. From the loss of loved ones to relationship issues. You name it, it’s happening right now. So, I try to encourage others to keep going and don’t give up, no matter what, quitting is not an option. There are so many support groups out there now because we all need each other. I share my testimony to help encourage others.
Clearly, you’ve done/are doing a lot in life. What are some of your most memorable experiences?
This past weekend at the 37th annual stellar awards. I got the opportunity to take a selfie with my favorite gospel singer Marvin Sapp… Also, my mom just passed away at 95 years strong, I was able to connect with my hometown Mayor & City Council to have her name added to her street, what an honor:: Seeing Eddie Murphy in person for the 1st time when filming Coming 2 America, I was in Awe… Being inducted into the 19th edition of Who’s Who in Black Atlanta, winning my 1st Entertainment Award on 11 alive TV.
What’s next for Janice Scott?
What’s Next for Janice Scott, Whatever God has for me to do, I’m ready let’s Go. I learned after my mom passing to take time and smell the roses because life is so precious. Continue traveling and making a mark in this world that cannot be erased. I am truly a World Changer. I want to continue my passion for being a role model to help others reach their dreams until there are literally no more unattainable goals.
