Nikki Burnett: Balanced and Boss’d Up

Nikki Burnett is a Wife, a Mom, a Serial Entrepreneur, and so much more. She is showing and proving that it doesn’t matter where you come from, you can do whatever you put your mind to. Her success is not a surprise to me, as she seems very driven and equipped with the experience and the tools to get the job done. Her success is even sweeter because she is able to pass that same drive down to her son. Nikki wants to show women everywhere how to become successful, and still be able to have it all. You don’t have to have one or the other. You can balance it all, and actually be successful with the right amount of focus and discipline:

FEMI STAFF (Tyrane Hughes): “We’re going to dive into all that Nikki Burnett has blossomed into, but can you tell us about the beginning of your story? The younger years?”

Nikki Burnett: “My beginning years shaped me to be the resilient woman I am today.  I grew up in the Robert Taylor Homes, a public housing project on the south side of Chicago. I witnessed a lot at a young age and had to grow up fast, learn how to adapt, adjust and survive.”

FEMI STAFF (Ty Hughes): “You’re the CEO of Modern Luxury Real Estate. Please tell us about that, and how you decided to get into the luxurious side of real estate.”

Nikki Burnett: “Modern Luxury Real Estate is a real estate investment firm specializing in short-term rentals. After being a Realtor for 15 years, I decided to give up the sales side & focus on the ever-growing short-term/AirBNB industry. Our niche is finding the perfect properties in the smaller college towns where expenses are low and demand is high.”

FEMI STAFF (Ty Hughes): “You wear many hats. You’re a Wife, a Mother, a Real Estate Investor, an Influencer, a Basketball Mom (Momager), and when it comes to entrepreneurship, you have multiple successful business ventures…Tell us about all the other things that you do, and how you balance it all.”

Nikki Burnett: “In addition to the many hats I wear, I’m also the brand ambassador for The CEO Chicks. The CEO Chicks network is for women of all ages, who are savvy, bold, and fearless in the pursuit of taking control of their financial future.  We help women in business Boss Up through Live Masterclasses, Branding Seminars, Training & Live Events.”

FEMI STAFF (Ty Hughes): “Speaking of being a “Momager”, your son Nimari Burnett is a McDonald’s All-American/Gold Medalist (congratulations!). Nimari is also a prospect for the NBA…What advice would you give to moms who are working hard to build an empire, and want to instill the importance of hard work and following their dreams into their children?”

Nikki Burnett: “The advice I would offer to moms looking to build their brand while helping their kids is to lead by example, and not by force.  Sometimes you can want more for your kids than they want for themselves, so it’s important to make sure that they want it and are willing to work for it. Once you see the drive, dedication, and commitment, as a mother it’s our job to pour into them, support their dreams and help them make their dreams a reality.”

FEMI STAFF (Ty Hughes): “Clearly you do a lot. It is important for our people to know that they can achieve their dreams, they can have a family, and they can do it while still being good to themselves. Please express the importance of mental health, and how it goes hand in hand with being successful. You can speak on the importance of explaining it to your children as well.”

Nikki Burnett: “The importance of being in a good mental state, feeling happy, grateful, and not dwelling on what has happened in your life is vital to success! You must know and believe that you can have it all, obtain your goals, have a family & be successful in life. I send my son motivational quotes daily to remind him that success isn’t for the weak or faint-hearted.”

FEMI STAFF (Ty Hughes): “You’ve already accomplished so much, and you don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. What’s up next for you and your brand?”

Nikki Burnett: “I have a can’t stop, won’t stop mindset! I’m determined to win & get rich rich or die trying! I will be releasing my Airbnb course in the next few months. I want to help others learn how to tap into the short-term rental industry, & become financially free without buying property. I will also be adding more properties to my portfolio and expanding to the Caribbean & Africa.”
