Oftentimes the solution to hair regrowth is some T.L.C. and a dose of patience. Although, the majority of the time, with women, constantly being on the go—ain’t nobody got time for that. Women suffer from hair loss equally to men; genetics, medical conditions, diet, stress, and protective hairstyles all impact hair loss. What we overlook and often hear from women after childbirth is, “my baby took all my hair.”
Inspired by Madam C.J. Walker’s success story as the first female self-made millionaire in the United States along with Walker’s creation of cosmetics and hair care products for African-American women, Dionna Walker established Hair Rebirth Products in July 2019. Dionna is a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. Her newly launched hair care product line may just be the solution women and mothers have been waiting for.
The product line features four different collections that include a shampoo, conditioner, hair moisturizer, hair growth oil, styling gel, and hair buttercream. Infused with rosemary, mint, coconut oil, and shea butter, this hair care line is a one hundred percent vegan. Also known as “the fairy godmother of hair products and edges” by her team, Dionna’s Hair Rebirth Products is the first brand of its kind that is created exclusively for mothers.
Dionna has also recently acquired an online partnership with Walmart. This is what she has to say about the creation and trajectory of her business.
What inspired you to create a hair care product line that is designed not only for hair growth and restoration but also for mothers?
“When I experienced hair loss after childbirth, it really took an impact on me. So instead of dwelling on it, I came up with a unique growth system to restore women’s hair.
What parts of Madam C.J. Walker’s story inspire you the most?
“I love her drive and passion. It was like she knew her place in the world would be forever talked about.”
What is your favorite product from your haircare line?
“I love The Rosemary and Mint Collection; I love the Hair Moisturizer and Super Growth serum.”
How did you end up partnering with Walmart?
“I launched a t-shirt brand in 2014 and the corporate loved the image and offered me a position to be in store, however, it wasn’t the right move for me. Now, I have the product that I feel is right.”
What do you envision for the future of Rebirth Hair Products?
“A multi-million dollar brand with supply stores worldwide.”
How do you balance marriage, six kids, and a small business?
“Prayer, Trap Music, and ambition.”
With a hands-on approach, a vision for her company, faith, and trap vibes, Dionna Walker is on her way to continue helping not only women but also mothers regain their confidence while battling postpartum hair loss.
