‘Ready to Love’ is Back: Season 5 is Hotter than Ever Premiering January 28th on OWN

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and love is in the air. During this time countless people dream about love, dating, and relationships. The hit reality show, Ready to Love, focuses on helping people find love. It will have you glued to your seats, week after week, watching as love and drama unfold, new relationships are formed, and some hearts are broken.

Season 5 tests the guy’s and girls’ vulnerabilities and their desire to step out of their comfort zones. During a recent press conference, cast member Sabrina mentioned, “After being married for 7 years and jumping back into the dating scene, I wanted to do something different. I didn’t want to date within my existing network, and social media apps weren’t for me.”

The seven men and seven women came together in Washington D.C. from the Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. areas with an open mind and an open heart for a chance at finding love, once and for all.

Male cast member Clifton mentioned, “…to do the show he had to think outside of the box and this was like speed dating on crack and he hopes he’ll leave with someone in his arms.”

Female cast member Ace stated, “To prepare for the show…she had to have a lot of self-love and peel back the layers…”

In the cast members’ quest for love, some of them crossed boundaries and tested their limits in an attempt to attract those they were interested in connecting with.

Precious was asked, what qualities are you looking for in a relationship? She joked, “Breathing,” then laughed. “No…someone who is matching my fly.”

On the dating scene, it’s important to have a sense of the type of person you want to date if you are going to have a chance at finding someone with whom you are compatible. And dating doesn’t come without bumps and bruises. There is the good, the bad, and the ugly and it’s your job to find someone as close as possible to what you are looking for in a partner.

Male cast member Laverne was asked, “As you meet the women, what do you want them to understand about you as a potential match?” He mentioned, “…he’s ready to love and is looking for someone to build a legacy, a family, and a friendship with.”

Sometimes there are connections with people and other times there are things that turn you off. Clifton was asked the question, “What are some things that turn you off in women?” He responded, “Women who have to make it known they are bosses. If you’re a boss you don’t have to tell me.”

So, get ready to get the juice! The cast pulled out all the stops by flirting to win the hearts of those with whom they hoped to find love. Buckle your seatbelts because this season, like last season, will be filled with twists and turns that promise to keep you tuned in and wondering what will happen next.

It’s going down on January 28th at 8 pm EST/7 C on OWN. The question is, which couple will survive and be ‘Ready to Love?’

It’s time for love. Are you ready?
