The Proud Family has ultimately rebooted after more than 20 years!
I’m a great fan, and due to this return, I’m feeling like I am reliving my mid-teenagerhood.
The show is establishing the concept of culture and memorabilia of the cartoon showcased and celebrating the growth of all communities in both: culture, equality, history, and so much more.
With compelling recurring voice actors and actress(s) such as Kyla Pratt, Karen Malina White, Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, and many more, The Proud Family’s revival sequence: Louder and Prouder will convey Penny Proud [ main character] into the world 2022.
Without hesitation, the show continued to showcase her independence and the adventure of simply being a teenager alongside her friends.
After 20+ years, the decision was to grow the character list and concept by adding new characters such as husbands Randall and Barry, voiced by Billy Porter and Zachary Quinto, and Penny’s new friend identifies as gender non-conforming newly attached Michael Collins. The opening of LGBTQ+ characters into the planet of changes, acceptance, and the expansion of conversation.
Changes have expanded the concepts and conversations such as: regarding individuality, social media, and growing up in our current atmosphere, but it stays true to its story and shows where it all began.
The show is set to be released on Feb. 23. Many are looking forward to it, especially those from the very beginning who have been attached from the start!
