#Exclusive Kaye Singleton & Duane Finley speak on the New Four-Part Anthology Series, Covenant

What has a beautiful cast, sophisticated writing, unapologetic storylines that are guaranteed to ruffle some feathers, snatch a few edges, and have you pondering the meaning of grace? That would be the highly acclaimed series Covenant that is streaming on the All Blk Network. Covenant is a four-part dramatic anthology series that brilliantly connects stories and characters of the bible to modern-day episodic content. Created and written by Kaye Singleton, an award-winning writer, producer, and actress, and directed by Courtney Miller.

FEMI had the honor to screen Part I & Part II of the Covenant episode titled “The Promise,” starring Kaye Singleton, Michael Anthony, Esmeree Sterling, Ashani Roberts, and Duane Finley. Allow me to be the first to share with you that the Covenant will immediately captivate audiences. You will embark on a journey into human experiences. As a viewer, you will indirectly or directly connect to the characters and feel a range of emotions that will have you talking or yelling at your TV. In Part I of the Promise, we are introduced to Serena Fuller. A beautiful and successful woman married to Malcolm Fuller, a professional football player that is also easy on the eye. If one wanted to judge a book by its cover, The Fuller’s might be defined as marriage goals. Having wealth, success, and fame. Within the first few minutes of the opening scene, we quickly discover that Serena’s body is rejecting her unborn child, which is the start of the Covenant taking viewers on an emotional joy ride that is raw yet entertaining. We are introduced to characters such as Patrice who represents that one down for whatever friend, that will always have the people that she loves back.

The Covenant is a must-see series that is guaranteed to leave one invested in the characters’ lives and have you wanting more, touching on universal subjects that spotlight family dynamics, infertility, immigration, sacrifice, tested faith, and the overall power of God. And FEMI loves to see such wonderful stories that are being bought to life by Black and Brown actors and actresses full of substance tackling real-life imagery that often goes unnoticed in the film and television medium. So, check out the Covenant on the ALL BLK Network.
