One Question.
Have you heard of the fashion brand by the title of (FOC) Flaws of Couture?
Well, it’s taking the fashion domain by storm and even expanding the conversation about self-love, breaking barriers, plus-size fashion, and most importantly, never settling.
As the Founder, Sasha Ruddock, famously says, “Be bold, and you be you,” and with that, she hasn’t been far from the truth.
As a young woman, a woman of color, and a woman from the multicultural city of Toronto like Sasha, I am beyond proud of her achievement and what she continuously stands for!
Let’s start by saying her recent achievement and the growing brand were such a needed movement. Sasha Ruddock, also known as the founder and face of Flaws of Couture, the whole designer and platform itself showcase a unique and even fashionably never seen before positive statement, especially when it comes to the conversations about self–love and body positivity.
The brand and the mastermind Ms. Sasha Ruddock herself created a vast and impressionable wallow in the series, which showcased her gift, passion, and out-of-this-world drive.
Notably, regarding the experience, she was blessed with working with celebrities such as Khloe Kardashian, Christian Siriano, and Jenna Lyons with the champions final designs, which are currently released in a Fall and Winter collection.
Finally, Sasha and her talented, ambitious team were very unwritten since they assisted her and continued throughout her inspirational journey and winning one hundred thousand dollars toward the financial expansion of her brand and growing company, giving them opportunities for upcoming Canadian designers as a one-of-a-kind mentorship. Talk about generosity and being true to her words and actions; she’s a real one.
One thing for sure when Sasha showcased and created her brand FOC, her sole purpose was not just celebrating the talent possessed but to showcase FOC, which is an inclusive brand, and to celebrate again body positivity that generally echoed the way we feel inner and outwardly with vibrant pieces.
As a woman from Canada and the Caribbean community, it’s generally no secret, that there’s a need for modernization when it comes to providing other fashionable options, especially the community of full-figured women.
FOC was created due to that and it’s been noticed, and elements have changed over the years, but let’s be clear there is still work to be done. When we speak about the conversation about plus-size fashion and body positivity, especially in my home country of Canada, it’s not precisely taken into a severe tête-à-tête especially regarding the sole difference of an average-sized woman simply of the exclusion Canada as a whole need to keep up not just in fashion and entertainment aspect but just being able to impetus the envelope.
One thing is for sure I’m looking forward to her up-and-coming projects. Her fashionable vision is what needs to be looked at, trust, and believed!
