With your most recent and upcoming projects, can you talk about them and their genesis?

Great Question.

I have four multi-award-winning projects circulating throughout the film festival circuit globally that have won a total of 67 awards combined for screenwriting in 2021. My projects are as follows.

 “7 Evils” is a Horror/supernatural series.

“Still Got the Juice” – Feel Good Family Drama Series

“Just By Chance” – Sports Comedy/ Short, which can also be a feature.

“Out On a Limb” Relationship Drama/Short/Feature

You have been in the world of screenwriting; tell us about your experience?

For me, it’s like a kid in a candy store. I learn something new every day regarding screenwriting. As a screenwriter, it is important to me to reintroduce what we may already know but enhance it with a touch of great storytelling by not being afraid to dig deep into that uncomfortable place to add the spice to make the taste everlasting for the audience.

Do you have a genre that you prefer to write in? Can you speak about the differences between the genres?

No, I do not have a preference …I like a challenge with anything I do … So, for me, I like to quench my thirst by tapping into all genres when writing a script… and to be honest, for years, I stayed away from horror. I didn’t want any part of that genre until one day. I experienced a gut-wrench truth about black magic…. So, I took what I have uncovered and did more research, and the next thing I knew, I was writing a horror series called “7 Evils.”

Whether it’s comedy, horror, sci-fi, Thrillers, or drama, as a writer with each story you become it…. the only difference in genre’s is the audience it appeals to… for the process is the same with each script you write.

How have you gone about improving your writing and creating craft?

Lots of studying. Reading books taking online classes … and most of all writing every day…. The more I write, the better I become at creating projects of quality.

Do you have a writing routine?

Absolutely! For each project…. I like to set the mood of the story by picking a playlist of music from that era. Once I have the stories written… I record an audio version …. I act out all the parts, and I add the ambiance, foley, etc., and the score … I then listen to it for about two weeks or so to study it… After I will do a table read with a similar process to get feedback … and revise any changes needed.

What do you find to be the most challenging aspect of writing, and how have you overcome that challenge?

Making it simple…… Being a Gemini, I am a very detailed person… and when I first began my journey as a filmmaker … my characters had no mystery to them —for I would give the audience way too much upfront… once I took classes. I then began to understand that you can get your point across with minimum dialog; that’s where my characters began to form more depth and become memorable.

How do you come up with your ideas?

Another great question. Usually, my ideas will just come out of nowhere…. I may experience something or hear a song that brings me to a place that intrigues me to write about it.

How have you grown as a writer over the years? What do you know now that you didn’t know when you started?

I’ve learned to be patient for nothing happens overnight…. I’ve also learned that polishing your skills will lead you to a path of excellence…. and most of all, don’t be afraid to allow others to help you … sometimes we come across people that may not see our vision. We chalk it up as a bad experience …. becoming standoffish and at times reluctant to having (GOOD) people help you due to your past experiences with others… I am thrilled to have met Tammy Reese; she has inspired me in so many ways that have allowed me to be more receptive to having great people like herself come on board and help put everything into motion.

What can we expect from you next?

To get Green LIGHTED! Here’s a fun fact about me …. I am like the prince of filmmaking; he put out a cd every day…. Lol, I come up with projects every month…. lol not even joking… We will have visuals for all our multi-award-winning projects and the release of “Mason’s City,” an animated series that I have been working on for ten years … I started it back in 2009. I received an honorable mention for the first episode called “One Cruel summer “- The Giletti Murders at the Machinima Film Festival… I stopped for 5years due to the death of my sister… and for some reason, everything that I stopped doing when my sister died, I am now doing again … which is a great sign of healing… I also have a documentary called “The Word Is Out” – The Introduction to Still Got the Juice…. We finally have everything we need to give a wow experience to our audience.
