Keisha Brown, BSN, RN is a certified E.R. travel nurse who centralizes in Pediatric and Adult Emergency Medicine. Her passion and love for assisting others was initiated at a tender age and, of course, over the years with continuous selfless experience by pervading general wellness and methods for beloved clients all over the country. This carefulness has continued throughout her career, mainly while serving as a front line nurse during the pandemic. Keisha continues to serve as a primary wellness practitioner at Tyler Perry Studios and Warner Brothers as well, with the whole effort to indeed enforce a safe environment and filming for the talented actresses and actors and their staff.
Outside of the healthcare field she is also a founder of a great organization that’s entitled “D.O.P.E. Healing:” which means Delivering Only Positive Energy. This is a concierge IV therapy and wellness clinic where she specializes in helping clients unlock the healing power of holistic health in Atlanta, GA. As an avid advocate for preventive care and naturopathic practice, she continues to grow and flourish when it comes to the pathway of integral health and, of course, the need for a higher degree in natural health and the products that are provided in the classes, and most importantly, the services.
Her mission is to provide holistic healing to as many customers as possible, and she continues to pride herself on her success in helping those and her community.
FEMI Magazine had a grand and impressive interview with Keisha on her journey, her organization, and mission for those in need off and on the screen.
Explain the feeling of working as the lead nurse over Covid testing at Tyler Perry Studios and Warner Brothers?
Keisha Brown: It was humbling and an honor to work with someone you admire like his work and authenticity. It was humbling to be able to help him do what he does best. By keeping people safe in any way he could, he was able to bring laughter and entertainment in that dark time.
How has the impact of Covid 19 affected you mentally and spiritually while working? How do you deal with stress or anxiety, if any?
Keisha Brown: It made me get closer to God. Daily affirmations and prayers. It was feeding my mental as well as my spiritual. To protect and refill my mental energy to help others, I had to continue to resupply my daily feelings and be careful of what and who I allow around and near me.
What has this pandemic taught you about yourself?
Keisha Brown: To value my talent, what I bring to the table, and my skill set. It also taught me to understand how essential I genuinely am.
I believe in investing in myself. I found out during this time the value that I possess and the mentality and creativity to want to develop something for myself.
Do you feel things will ever get back to normal? How can people cope with this pandemic?
Keisha Brown: Honestly, I don’t think anything will be “normal” again. However, we will cultivate and adapt to a “new normal” with familiar traditions.
Mask requirements are already being relaxed, although people are still uncomfortable being without it. The C.D.C. is currently looking at 70% population vaccination before masks can be removed. I believe that ingenuity and creating a niche for yourself are crucial to bouncing back after this pandemic.
Medically, continue with hand hygiene, cover your cough or sneeze and wash hands afterward. Use hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available. If you believe in the vaccine and want that assurance, it’s freely provided. Educate yourself before administration. Be mindful of others around you. You may be safe, but the person next to you may not be vaccinated or so fortunate.
You specialize in helping clients through holistic health; tell us more about the types of treatments offered?
Keisha Brown: We offer IV hydration, Vitamin Injection, covid 19 testing, Vaccines, Pre- and post-operative care. I’m huge on helping my community, so we are working on providing more FREE preventive screening and testing to the city and neighboring counties. I believe preventive care is the best care. Our focus is to keep people out of the hospital. It’s the little things that count.
Is holistic health a better way for treatments and when you mention unlocking healing power, explain what that means?
Keisha Brown: Holistic medicine and proper dietary levels, hydration, and proper balance of minerals prevent cancers, high blood pressure, and a list of other diseases.
The body is like a machine, and proper maintenance means providing the body what it needs to operate at peak performance.
Our body is 60% water; it is imperative to maintain its functionality and avoid the diseases that plague our communities that we stay hydrated and have the proper intake of vitamins and minerals in our system.
What else is in store for your organization D.O.P.E. Healing this year? Any upcoming events?
Keisha Brown: As the world continues to open, and more events are permitted, I will continue to do pop-up events, also partnering with the Department of Public Health-promoting and providing Covid-19 vaccination and testing throughout the Atlanta metro area.
