We will Call Her the Quiet Storm and Ms. Jill of All Trades, but you can Call her Dominique Carson

I would be telling a story if I said that Dominique Carson was not the quiet storm itself. But, coming up from Brooklyn, New York, and facing many challenges that would have usually broken people, she took that pain and turned it into a passion. So, let me introduce you to the Jill of all trades, 3X CUNY Graduate, Award Winning Community Activist, Board Director, Sales Representative, Researcher, Journalist, Author, Writer, and Massage Therapist. Dominique is also a Publisher, with her biography on R&B singer and songwriter Jon B, entitled; Jon B: Are You Still Down? So, you already know FEMI Magazine had to interview this quiet storm to understand better how she does it all!

You have so many things to juggle: writer, massage therapist, and journalist, just to name a few. So how do you balance it all?

I strongly believe in time management and making time for myself since I juggled a lot personally and professionally. Even though I am a journalist, author, massage therapist, & writer, I love all fields, so it does not get tiring. I have to remind myself occasionally that I am only one person and not an octopus with eight arms. Secondly, I must set aside personal time and sleep to adjust to the work/life balance.

The path to success is not linear. How did you navigate the challenges along the way, and what advice would you give to someone who feels like they may never reach success?

Success is truly a journey, not a destination. The roadway to success is not always calculated, but you can’t be afraid to fail. I realized in my life that my triumph moments were created after experiencing some of my biggest failures. A Lyft driver told me that we don’t have problems; we have incidents. But you will only have a problem if you do not wake up the next day. And from that ride, it has been my slogan for success and life. We are not immune to life challenges; it comes with success but how you handle it determines the outcome of your life.

Do you have any advice for people passionate about multiple things and may be forced to choose just one of them?

You shouldn’t set any limits on yourself, don’t be afraid to look weird or strange to the outside world. You have to be courageous while pursuing your passions along with time, faith, direction, and dedication. Take advantage of every opportunity; you never know where your passion may take you in life. I inform people that an inspirational vision is not a pipe dream; give it a chance to mature and reveal its potential.

If you could credit your success to just one thing, what would it be?

To be honest, it has to be two things. First and foremost, I credit my Heavenly Father for all of my blessings, along with the good and bad. Next, I appreciate my fiancé, friends, family, & colleagues for their continuous support and tough love. God has blessed me with people that SINCERELY have my best interest at heart.

Dominique is a multifaceted person and does not hold back from using any of her gifts or miss any opportunity to learn anything new. So, follow Dominique to learn more about her journey and how she does it on social media platforms and websites.
