Yuh- Jung Young won Best Supporting Actress. for “ Minari” making her the 1st Asian woman to win an acting Oscar since 1958. She’s also the 1st Korean to Ever be nominated and win.
Mia Neal and Jamika Wilson became the 1st Black Women to win an Academy Award for the Best Makeup and Hairstyling. they won for their work in ‘Ma Rainey ‘s Black Bottom.”
H.E.R. won Best Original Song for “Fight for You” which was featured in Judas and the Black Messiah.
The Oscars has existed for a good 93 years. despite these being long overdue, Let’s Celebrate their historic wins!
