What and who inspired you to start dancing, and how did that lead to choreographing?
I have a unique story as to how I became a dancer. When I was in elementary school,
I walked to my grandmother’s job after school every day; she worked as an administrative assistant for a doctor by the name of Dru Copeland. Dr. Copeland took an interest in my well-being and success and offered to pay for my dance lessons after school. Dr. Copeland’s interest was the catalyst to my budding career in the industry. As I grew in the knowledge and understanding of the art of dance, choreography became second nature.

If you had to choose one style of dancing for the rest of your life, what
Would it be and why?

Wow! That is a phenomenal question and a difficult one to answer. I have so many
favorite styles. But if I had to choose one, it would be Hip-Hop. The baseline of most Hip-Hop songs will more than likely get my head bopping. Nonetheless, Hip-Hop is a boundless style that offers the freedom to fuse so many other styles within the genre.
I love the freedom of Hip-Hop, so that would definitely be the choice of style for me.

Your creativity has flowed into various areas and now publishing books. What
has geared you towards this area?

Our giftings as human beings are limitless, and there is so much untapped potential
within each one of us. Before I leave this earth, I want to exhaust all of my creative gifts and talents. I used to write a lot when I was younger, and I am an avid journalist, penning my innermost thought and feeling every day. I picked up an old journal from a tumultuous season in my life and realized that it would be a good book in the hopes that it would help someone else overcome tough situations.

Your title, The Game of Life: Releasing the Weight When God Says Wait, is an
interesting play on words. What is the meaning behind the title, and what else can we expect from the book?

There will inevitably be a season of waiting at some point in a person’s life, waiting to find that special someone, waiting to have those amazing children, or land that dream job. I wanted to take my readers down a journey of releasing the heaviness of waiting.

Lastly, what are you working on that we can look out for?

I am currently working on a few independent projects through my production company
D.O.P. Entertainment, so be on the lookout for that. In the meantime, you can catch me in Coming 2 America and Genius: Aretha.
